Cleaning Mechs

Most mech users here will have a fair idea about cleaning your pride and joy but I thought I would post a few pics since it is clean and rewick day. Now i dont usually let the mongrel get this dirty but I thought i would leave it for 2 weeks just so I could show the difference.

Before shots bleh looks manky’

3 minutes in warm water with citric acid and 6 minutes in citric acid

Another 6 mins due to the fact i only did a little of it. and put it on the drill polisher

1 minute later

Goon needs some love too

Finished cleaned mod.

You can pretty much get it done in under 10 mins.

I know this will likely bore some to tears but thought i would post it for shiggles.

Looks nice. You reminded me that I need to order a 510 polishing widget whosit. Better than a rag and brasso, lol.

why didn’t I know this was a thing? I am so far out of the loop. Being from Houston, being out of the loop isn’t a bad thing.

Anywho, thanks for posting this.
