The Enigma. (Hump backed Alien or framed Mohawk)
28gN80 frames
12ply 0.3k ribbon
36SS304 Enigma wrap.
The polished coils underneath are some 19gN80 that’s been sanded using 120grit, 500grit, 1000grit, 1500grit, 2000grit and finally 2500grit.
6 pieces of wet and dry paper per grit.
Washing after each grit.
Then finally around 5 hours in a ULTRA SONIC CLEANER to thoroughly clean the coil.

Took 3 days to fully clean all the metal debris from my hands lol.
But the coils look insane once complete.

It’s 10x 0.3 ni80 ribbon stack 2x 28g ni80 frames with a 0.3 ni80 ribbon tsuka, the alien tsuka is achieved by claptoning a piece of ribbon around some 24g and decore and stretch like a normal alien then Clapton back on over your framed staple stack. It’s a very delicate build until the alien tsuka is in place and great care is needed throughout this process

Heres my first attempt at a hybrid coil. I really wish I had claptoned the exposed core wires but I didn’t…maybe next time! I was trying to get a feel for how these hybrid coils worked so I’m happy it actually worked. It’s no PT coil but it’s alright lol.
