How are flavors developed?

I feel curious to know what’s the process to manufacture a flavor. There are artificial and natural ones. For the artificial I guess its all about chemistry, putting together a huge list of synthetic molecules as specified in a secret recipe. But, how are those molecules developed? Do some of them come from real and natural products such as fruits, nuts, flowers…? How are those molecules extracted?

There are soooooo many ways.

From real fruit in an alcohol mixture to combining ingredients from parts you extract or buy.

When I am not half asleep I will write a better reply.

I can help steer you on the net methods while Walt gets some rest. Net is a abbreviation for naturally extracted Tobacco’s , Don’t run off!
The mention of tobacco runs the majority off , this method can be used for lot’s of flavors. Tea’s , Vanilla beans , Coffee and many others.
Lots of great info and we have some tutorials if you wish to go that route.Good luck and if you have any questions about net just ask in one of those threads.
