Advantages of mixing with weight?

thank you very much sir

ditto kungfoogorilla, just recently bought one of those when my other scale crapped out on me. Advantages are it runs on batteries, but it comes with a power cord so don’t have to worry about the auto shut off, and it also comes with calibration weights so you won’t have that extra expense as well.

With Nic being so expensive for you, have you thought about making your samples without Nic?

call me a dumb
that would be a solution… but i have never been able to taste 0mg juices correctly for any reason  i tried to start making my recipes at 0mg… but for this reason stayed working my batches at 3mg…

I had the same problem with some of my mixes. It seemed like my custard mixes didn’t taste the same, but my fruit mixes were fine. Just shows how everybody’s experience with zero nic is different.

i really don’t know… i was thinking that that i was doing something wrong or whatever with my recipes…
i tried to buy ready made eliquids (Dinner Lady, Lost Fog, Cosmic Fog, Space jam etc) but the conclusion was the same… poor taste… i don’t know, even a streek (by Lost Fog, it’s bavarian cream, Greek Yogurt and Strawberry) clone i am making when i made a 0mg for my gf (she wanted it at 0mg) and even though i LOVE this eliquid i can’t vape it at 0mg…
and it’s not about the nicotine, it’s just that i don’t get for some reason pleasure from taste

Syringes are just as accurate, you just have to know how to read the scale. If the air bubble confuses you then you should be working by weight. There are just as many problems using a scale accurately. Purely personal preference.

For me it’s just less items involved and less clean up. I have everything with the exception of my nicotine in drip bottles so I like to weigh my mixes. Add, tear, add, tear, and when I’m done the beaker says I have the volume I was shooting for every time. How accurate is it? Accurate enough for me. Darn drops don’t always weigh out to the exact weight I want to the 100th of a gram. To me consistency is the most important. I’m always changing things up anyway to tweak mixes. As long as my process is consistent, I will get where I want to go. If your concerned about the weight of a flavor and trust your syringe, weight an ml. I just use the weight of the carrier (VG or PG) and it works for me.

And now for a message from Amazon…

I feel your pain :frowning:
Fortunately, there are still some UK stores that are selling the remainder of their nicotine stock (e.g. http://www.darkstarvapour.co.uk/shop/72mg-nicotine?___store=darkstar_en) so you can still get liters of 72mg nic. It’s worth paying international shipping.

And I know US people always recommend their great LB-501 scale, but they’re difficult, if not impossible to get in the EU.
I bought this little bugger and it does the trick:

It’s cheap and it works more than good enough. I’m sure wherever you live, you’ll be able to get a decent scale from amazon or other site. Check for 0.01g and preferably something that can handle up to 500g

Weight is the way to go 100%. My life changed when I bought a digital scale. Faster mixing, more accurate, quick clean-up. Batch size doesnt matter either. Its the best way imho

Courier companies here stopping them at customs…
the other part is that even they will not, i will have to pay the tax… 1.25e/10ml this is not changing unfortunately even if i pay for international shipping…
1 litter of nic… = 125e. tax… plus the original price of the product, adding international shpping… OMG! and having the danger of not being able to get it at all…

I don’t get it… you’re working in euro, meaning you live within the Euro-zone. UK is STILL within the EU… no customs, no taxes, that would be against all EU policies.
2 Liters for Ā£49.99 + shipping, how does that compare to 125 euro for 1 liter? And you’re not even mentioning the strength. With the TPD, that can only be 20mg, this is 2L of 72mg. Big difference.

But hey, I’m not forcing you, just tried to save you some money.

i know what you mean m8… but unfortunately i have to inform you that:
Greece has added special tax on these products (only seperate PG or VG of 0mg has no tax unfortunately) … so these products come at customs…
the law right now applies tax/ml if it’s containing nic no matter the strength of nicotine, and if it’s a mix of vg/pg (even if it’s 0mg) tax applies again…
if it’s PG 0mg or VG 0mg alone has not tax (i guess this was made to exclude these products somehow for pharmaceutical usage, while the amount can be anything (from 1ml up to whatever)… this thing is outside of just the EU TPD…

That sucks man :frowning:
I’d still fight it, Greece is part of the EU and has to abide by the European economic laws. These products shouldn’t even see customs. It’s for personal use so there is no legal way they are allowed to tax you.

They can tax the hell out of everything they sell themselves, but if you buy something in another EU country, they cannot put extra taxes on it. You already paid taxes in the UK if you’d order it.

Similarly, when I smoked, I always bought my cigarettes outside of the UK because it was only 25% of the price I’d pay here. As long as I bought it for personal use and not sell it to others, they can be as difficult as they want, but they could not tax me extra on it.

trust me it sucks…
well… the concept is that they will gather like 20.000.000 euro by this law (i am sure they will not, since the vapers in greece are like the 3% of smokers) :stuck_out_tongue:
this tax has been added as special tax like tobacco products… at the same time, vaping products can’t be advertised and everything is regulated under tobacco laws… but i will tell you one thing…

in a vaping store a company from another country, sent them like 30*10ml bottles of eliquids as free samples, that dude had to pay 375e. in custom to get them…
even the eliquid productoin companies pay the tax to goverment and rolls down to the end user…
while even bringing eliquids from other countries… you pay tax at the custom… and even for doing that you must have a company that is registered as a ā€œtax warehouseā€ā€¦ until now i don’t know even a single individual that has made to buy eliquids or DIY bases (except 0mg Pg or 0VG) from other countries…

i also said that nic costs a lot here also… just for having an image of it…
an average cost for making 100ml/6mg ejuice right now here costs like ±30euros (3nic bottles/0pg/0vg + one flavor concentrate) while before it was like 12-15euros and the average earnings from a job are like 500e. in average
no matter if this is common logic or outside of it… this is happening right now and this is the law about it unfortunately… as you already know also greece in under capital controls (you can’t buy much also from outside countries even if they’re in europe… vaping products also here cost generally a lot… but anyway… this is really a big conversation and leads nowhere… it’s outside of my hands or your hands unfortunately

Like I said before, I feel for you. If only they made vaping cheap, they’re save so much more on healthcare, and healthy workers are more productive workers, which is good for the economy too.

All these laws about vaping, no matter where you go, they’re very counter productive :frowning:
It’s so sad and so unfair.

If I make my own e-liquid, I pay less than a Ā£ for 30ml, so less than Ā£3 for 100ml. If there’s 1 thing the UK does properly, it’s embracing vaping and seeing the positive things of it.
