mi had a girlfriend whos mother and father received something like this it was actually a dead person with the same last name and all they had to do was vlah blah blah ( i dont remember the words ) sign some papers and go through some other steps and the money was theirs then they had to pay these people some fees but b4 anything could take place they would have to prove who they were and send 2000 dollars to get the paperwork going , basically they got screwed this was in the early 2000 maybe 1999 the entire time i was like you guys are crazy , but they kept getting all this legal crap that looked legit smh

I hadn’t filed for a resolution until just now. I am bummed this turned out to be a scam. But even if I had gotten one I would have felt somewhat guilty because someone was getting shafted over this. I knew that was a given. I feel bad for the actual seller if he did indeed get hacked. But either way, Karma always wins in the end

I am a telephone support person for iThings. You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who have purchased hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars worth of iTunes cards to do things like buy cars off Craigslist, post bail for their “grandchild” or even, amazingly, to pay the “IRS.”
'Cause, you know, Apple and the IRS are totally buddies and the real IRS is totally gonna email you and accept iTunes cards for $1800 of back taxes you didn’t even know you owed.
I have personally witnessed probably $10,000 or more of iTunes cards go to scammers over the last couple years. And that’s just me, my teammates all get these calls too…
