I’ve actually been watching a few today, learning a lot! had a go at my first clapton build today, not bad, first one screwed up on me but my second attempt is the pictures ive just posted, having fun man

First attempt at a clapton today, this is my second effort as the first one screwed up on me, its 26ga SS316L round a 24ga SS316L paralleled with another 24ga SS316L, 2.5mm i.d. o.28ohms, vapes ok but couldn’t get it to burn evenly, still learning and having fun doing so

I like to use 26g 316L SS core with 36g 316L SS wrap ( I wish I had a good camera with a macro lens ) LOL

thats just an iphone 5 zoomed in, no macro! doesn’t focus if your too close but if you get it as close as you can, take it in HDR then just zoom into the picture and screen shot it, works a dream

Tried my first Alien this weekend…what a mess and waste of wire LOL. I may try it again someday, but not until I have a boat-load of wire to waste. I’ve got the simple Claptons down but wanted to try something different.

lol, the pattern was there in parts but the core kept twisting and the outer wrap was all spaced out, I’ve ordered some swivels and a new swivel vice so I’ll try again weekend lol

26g twisted 3 wires 10 wrap 3mm.

Thanks for the link. I watched several videos, built a coil from the “Back to Basics”. He explains everything simple for simple people like myself. Apparently practice and tons of extra wire are needed. Ordered another $60 on wire again this week.
