I can’t keep this out of my face hole.
More like a swirl. I got the idea from the Food Network website. I think it’s going to be tasty. The first one I mixed up was similar to Take Me to the Seas recipe so I mixed a do over.
Oh. My. YUM!
I haven’t played with the LMP profile since a while, and am very much looking forward to trying everyone’s mixes. Very excited to whip up a few batches of my own, as well!
Ooooo yum. Looks like some lemons & creams…looks delicious.
That looks good Lynda. I can see that working well with an ice cream base and some candied lemon flavors to help separate the two layers.
Thanks! There’s actually a small amount of Nomz graham cracker in there that I’m hoping we’ll help with that as well…
Yes definitely GC or even a cookie/light cake can create that separation. I did a lemon ice cream with a candied lemon and INW Shortbread, based on a lemon Bar Ice cream a few years ago it came out really good.
I may possibly build out the crust some more but im really enjoying this. I am a huge fan of just about everything Lemon so I’m likey to play around with more ideas throughout the month. If my workload allows for it.
“Don’t pick me”
Here’s my mix, I wish I made a bigger bottle Pleased with how it came out, and only 9% total flavor
The Nomz needs a steep. The flavors grow.
This sounds delicious. I always get tempted to try a new lemon & see the Ultimate line with sale prices most every weekend. It’s time to try their Ultimate Lemon so I can mix this up!
You can use FE lemon or your favorite lemon. I’m just trying to use concentrates I never mix with
(That are good anyway!) I really enjoy all the ultimates, the pineapple is super good!
Thank you! I’ll be mixing a bigger bottle for sure.
LOL! Well…too late this time. I placed my order about an hour ago.
I’ve been using FE Lemon & FA Lemon Sicily for the past few years, like’m fine too. I’m looking forward to trying a new lemon anyway…just to compare…I bet it’s good.
Quick question: how are you all managing for your bakery notes to come thru balanced with the rest? Some of my mixes are too lemon forward and the bakery is barely noticeable. The others are the other way around. Hard to imagine with just 0.3% MF Lemon, and if I raise it to even 0.4% it becomes overpowering again. At 0.25% it falls off the face of the earth. Never had such an issue with balance before.
Should I make a 10% dilution and try 3.25% maybe? I feel bad dropping MF lemon because it really is the best one I own, so I need to make this work.
Edit: maybe my problem was trying to go the traditional LMP route
@IggyZ I too had greater than expected Lemon Fade, and had to UP the game with some MF Lemon. Quite the balancing act, depending on your flavors/profiles…
I have never dikuted MF lemon i use it between 0. 12 and 0.3pct…Remember MF will seem to fade sometimes and then it will upsteep so if your developing recipes with MF yiu going to want to see how it all is after 7 to 10 days. I jave also never had MF lemon fall off the face of earth or anywhere else at .25pct though
Lemons definitely have a good amount of fade. Certain flavors help hold up the lemon through a steep. I like to use a touch of SSA rainbow sherbet to hold lemon in some mixes.
VSO Buddhist hand is another great flavor that will push lemon through a steep.
I have both the OG BHC and the Raw. It is quite good in watermelon mixes as well. It has this lemon citrus rind note which is very pleasant. Didn’t think to try it in either of these mixes. Maybe will give it another attempt.
This morning a lemon meringue marshmallow cereal bar came to mind. I’ll try that first before going back to square 1 with a normal LMP profile. I’ve done 7 versions so far, and feel kind of LMP blind at the moment.
In this instance, the MF Lemon was the only lemon flavoring in the mix, and was at 0.25%. With the addition of custard, butter, meringue, and Graham+Biscuit, it really did all but disappear. Was as if I’m vaping the rest of the flavors, but no lemon coming through. Was quite strong off the shake, but after a week it hasn’t come back. Still got 2 weeks to figure it out. Considering it was just a drop or two in the bottle, maybe I didn’t shake it well enough and vaped all the lemon before it settled in. Who knows.
