DIY vape vs original brands

I don’t! Never saw the point, it’s all about me when I’m mixing. I suppose I was lucky in that I was always able to make something, while maybe not the best, I could improve it to where I liked it and move on to the next one.

I have tried some mixes from others, but more to try a combination that I saw that looked interesting to me, quite often I may just take parts of recipes and put that combo up against a base that I know.

Welcome to the forum @nithint1093 I’m glad you joined us

I’m not sure I understand your comment above so don’t know how to respond. I think we agree on the fact that there are some good commercial juices and some good diy.

If I understand you correctly, you want to find ELiquid you enjoy enough to keep you off the cigs and won’t drain your piggy bank, right? But how do I find a good DIY recipe? Have you looked into the One Shots? Flavor Jungle carries many that are pretty good for a decent price. A lot less expensive than buying top shelf commercial. And sometimes you can find the One Shot recipe on ELR because someone like Wayne from DIY or Die, for instance, uses our calculator and he makes them public. There are other mixers who have their One Shots sold on vendor sites who also publish their recipes here like Lukeloop, SheerLuck Ohms, etc. This might be another option for you to look into instead of perusing 1000s of recipes.

ETA: I forgot to add, Flavor Jungle tells you which of their One Shots are sweetened or not so you have a choice. Idk anyone else who does that.

Hi Muth,

Thanks a lot for ur response and yes, im from india and getting anything from uk or us imprted gets charged with 100% customs and let alone if it reach as anything vape related is banned. We do get the common flavor concentrates here since its categorised as flavors/essence.

So as you can assume, everything vape related ill have to pay 3 to 5x here to someone from the uk or us. So its not practical for me to mix my own recipes as the learning curve is going to be very expensive.

The suggestions of mixers you shared is what i am looking for. Im not sure of the major mixers who do commercial mixers. Ive purchased some one shots from chefs uk in the past. I can also try getting some one shots from nomnomz uk as they ship cheap to india and even with customs, ill have something good to vape.

Can u pls suggest me few more mixers i can follow for good recipes in 2024. As i know many of the old recipes here with high rating might not work now due to the change in tech

Ah, you’re in India. You are not the first Indian to come here asking questions and seeking support. I can see why now. I don’t know what your tastes are but I can list some well known mixers for you. Give me some time to gather that info. In the meantime, you can look at the recent recipes that publish almost daily on the ELR home page. The ones with hashtags are from mixing channels on Youtube and might lead you to more experienced mixers. You can also check out Wayne on his DIY or DIE YouTube show and website. He posts a lot of his recipes. What you can do is find mixers with similar tastes as yours and follow them on ELR. That way you’ll get notifications when they publish a new recipe.

Btw, I can’t remember who it was but a vaper from India was here not long ago and he was looking for nicotine. He happened to find a vendor locally, iirc. If I can find his posts maybe you can message him for more info. All resources are valuable in this vape restrictive world we live in. Do you know Qorax Stan? He might be Pakistani but lives in Canada now. He might be a resource for vape related info.

Qorax, last time I watched his videos was in Canada. Old school and always great videos. A true old school legend.

Love his content! To the point and no one else offers what he does as far as technical know how, like how to prepare a mesh wick for example. Everyone knows about mesh coils but not wicks so much. It’s a fantastic way to test juice, so absorbent and you can just burn it off and move on to the next flavor. No changing out wicks every time. Good stuff.

I love anything dessert, bakery, tarts, custard, cookie custards and lemon.

Some of my favourite commercial liquids and one shots are (since i am new to diy) jam monster lines, sad boy cookie lines, dinner lady lemon tart, chefsuk tart au citeron etc.

Really appreciate ur other tips. You guys are so positive and supportive.

That’s what we’re here for. It’s what ELR is all about now more than ever with all the resistance to vaping. We all needed help to learn DIY and it doesn’t happen overnight, it takes patience. I threw in the towel once because I couldn’t create a recipe for myself that I liked. Truth be told, I wasn’t willing to put in the work and all my shortcuts weren’t working  When I decided to come back and hunker down it all started to come together. I did find other mixers’ recipes that I liked though and started mixing them.

Would you have another name for this person? I searched YT but didn’t find anything. Thanks.

He hasn’t posted in 3 years, but here he is.

His mesh wicking on a kayfun is very typical.

@big_vape thanks for posting the Qorax link. Idk if he’s still active on YouTube but he’s been an ecf member for a long time. Not sure if he’s active there either but I hope their members have given due honor to him for all his contributions. He wasn’t in the light like pBusardo, Dimitri and the likes but a distinct creator in his own right. I hope he knows he’s appreciated.

I’m watching it now, thank you.

I just found this one in his library of going to Jabel Hafeet.

It’s in the city of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE. I lived in Al Ain for 21 years. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I would never have watched that without seeing your post. That’s his flair and you probably notice that by now. The level of production has always been good.

Hey @nithint1093
Maybe you could search the recipe side for Jam Monster etc…

I did a quick search and found a lot of recipes for Jam Monster.
Not sure how good they are but you could refine the search by clicking the “rating” column, it will then sort them with the highest rated recipes showing first.
You can start by looking at those.
Then repeat for other brands.

It would look like this:
