Somebody posted in another thread about picking up extra freezers, as the world’s gone crazy hehe. I do agree with that, and it reminded me of the ECOFLOWs I’ve been running, and actually DID have to use a few times, to backup the NIC freezers.
I’m sure most of you already have generators, whole house generators, maybe UPS for uninterrupted power. Whole house gennies are great, but are attached (DUH) to the house, and are often very loud. Gas gennies while somewhat portable are loud and require fuel.
A while back I picked up 2 ECOFLOW Delta2 MAXs with extra batteries, and dual 220W solar panels for each. Quick charge over AC grid power, or solar charging, and they even offer a vehicle module to charge in the vehicle. And the BEST part, they’re dead quiet, and portable. I have one stack tied into a transfer switch, and the other stack elsewhere.
Slick app, LFP next gen battery tech, ability to stack battery banks with jumper cables and increase standby time and power. Can even be used as in backup mode, like a UPS.
Pretty slick stuff. Big, small, whole house, they sell them all.
I have a 200 watt solar panel charging 2 260 watt lipo batteries. Takes about a day to charge both batteries from zilch. It runs to a AC converter to 120 V. It will run everything in my trailer for about 1.5 days before it expires the battery’s. Luckily Anney was right when she sang “the sun will come out tomorrow”. Battery’s recharge whenever the sun is out. Pull both lipo’s during the winter and once a month trickle (1amp) charge when their in the house.

Batteries are batteries (kinda), and I did like some of the different features/benefits. Had never heard of this tech before.
Chemical Composition

Lithium-ion batteries, depending on chemistry, usually last between 800 and 1,500 cycles.
In practical terms, that means an LFP battery could last over 10 years with regular daily use, while a lithium-ion battery may need replacing much sooner.

Safety is where LFP truly shines. Its strong phosphate bonds make it inherently resistant to thermal runaway—a dangerous reaction that can lead to fire or explosion in lithium-ion batteries. LFP cells can withstand higher temperatures and remain stable even when punctured or overcharged.
Remember you’re going to have to pick and choose what you want to power on with something like the Ecoflow system. It’s not big enough to power up any 220 volt breakers . Forget powering up a well or air conditioner. If you want to power up the house your better off going to a natural gas system that will run 6500 Watts or better.
Yes the Ecopro is available but at what cost? Who’s going to move and take their solar panel with them? Once they’re on the rooftop the panels are there till the house needs a replacement roof. If you have access to natural gas it’s the way to go for whole home installation. If you are totally off grid a system like the Ecopro is the type of installation needed.
Well, hehe, that depends. There’s ALL kinds of different scenarios for whole house, even partial house backup power. Everyone’s situation, and/or requirements are different. It is nice to have a “portable” option, for all sizes…
