Flavorah-based recipes

WF apparently has 2 different Sweeteners now. (has anyone tried both Stevia WF and SS CAP?)

I heard that WF was having problems with the Stevia crystallizing again so was planning on reworking it. Not sure if that has happened and pretty sure I heard that on Ohm Grown Alchemy YT channel, believe it was @woftam who mentioned it.

I need to find my sample bottle of the WF Stevia, pretty sure I have it and see. I have used the WF Sweetener but not much success. It does smell heavy of EM and not that sweet in mixes, think I went as high as 1% but mostly low due to the strong smell of EM.

Thx mjag. Was thinking to give it a try since no artificial sweetener taste (never tried SS CAP for this reason), but i guess i’ll just stay with FLV; have no complains and i don’t need it often anyway.

any spicy ones your willing to…plz send my way I love them too. Just haven’t found any super spicy ones I want to mix yet. I even bought ā€œcapsiumā€ but not sure what or with I will try it …not sure if it will burn my face off either…they say 1 drop per 10ml or anymore will cause uncomfortable throat burn…considered vapeable but im a bit afraid of it to be honest…I have black pepper,Holiday spice,bakery spice , Capsium, chai spice, cloves, and cinnamon(Ceylon) (FA) for spices.so far…not a clue what to do with them rn.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you replied to a post from 2015. Worse still, Ken’s been MIA for a couple of years now. :cry:

Great guy though, and definitely worth having a wander through his recipes!

I have tried FA Black Pepper @3% and quite honestly found it basically tasteless. I wasn’t sure but thought I thought I perceived a slight tingling on my tongue on the exhale but don’t know if I was imagining it. Certainly didn’t blow my socks off.
I’ve also tested FA Cinnamon Ceylon @3% and did find that quite good as I remember. My brief notes say;

Quite good and sort of spicy. Vapeable on own but could possibly go stronger.

Subsequently I have used it in recipes at much lower percentages and haven’t really noticed it in the final flavour.

I just thought if the capsicum you’re referring to is FW capsicum heat I’ve also tried that @2%. I was a little more concerned about this one and considering it’s FW that’s extremely low for me. However although this seemed tasteless at this percentage I did think it had a kind of low spicy/peppery aftertaste.

As I live in Australia where nicotine has always been illegal to sell domestically and own without a doctor’s prescription I’ve been chasing the elusive throat hit without the use of nicotine for years, hence my purchase of these concentrates.
None delivered what I hoped for but,particularly the capsicum heat, are useable in my opinion.

Holly cannoli! I’ve only use black pepper fa at 1-2 drops per 15ml. I did that when adding to a strawberry mix and found the black pepper to be pretty strong. I would think at 3% would be over flavored and not taste like anything.

Agreed drops @Chrispdx is where I find Black Pepper (FA) works for me. In the range of .15 - .30.
I might add Cinnamon Ceylon (FA) in the .5% - 1.0 would be where my mixing range is for this flavor concentrate.

I probably overdid it then!

Honestly @3% it barely registered but I will take your advice and try a few drops to see if I notice anything.

I SFT every concentrate I buy and normally start @3% for FA so that could have been my mistake.

Mileage with vary from person to person. You may need 3-4 drops per 15ml rather than my 1-2.

Personally I am sensitive to spice flavors/elements. Mint/cinnamon/pepper/cardamon/thyme. However my usage of Cardamon fa in blueberry recipe is pretty high…but that’s to bust through heaven flavors and to sit on top. For all I know black pepper fa may be good at 1%…I haven’t tried.

I love fa black pepper. I’ve been playing with that one for a couple months now. Mostly in custards or VBIC I’m just waiting and hoping it’ll turn out soon for me…I’m sure my mixing skills aren’t helping much either :wink: but I have also found I feel I can push it alot farther than the 1% I’ve been using it isn’t very flavorful…it is kinda depressing idk of anyother b.pepper concentrates out there…do you?

I have all these flavors except the flavorah banana and pineapple… could I get away with subbing just those 2 or should I jist order them n wait?

Can’t think of any subs (in an all FLV recipe) and I wouldn’t talk you into buying any flavors… but I do know I get a lot of mileage from both the banana and pineapple. So there ya go :sunglasses:

Same here. I generally don’t use sweeteners but got FLV for a recipe I wanted to try. I didn’t notice anything negative like gunking or offnotes. Frankly, I’m not sure it was really needed…for me anyway.

I have tried;
FA Cinnamon Ceylon @3% and found it not too bad with a little bit of bite.
FW Capsicum Heat @2% and found it basically tasteless but I’m sure it delivered a little bit of extra kick.
And a Wasabi concentrate which I bought ages ago @2% which I found similar to Capsicum Heat but I think it had just a tad more to it.
I think the Wasabi had Express flavours on the bottle and I can’t find it listed anymore. Certainly the vendor I bought it from isn’t showing it anymore.

I sampled the capsicum and wasabi at a low percentage as I had no idea what to expect but was chasing a little extra throat hit.
I think they both delivered on something but I’m still unsure if it was just in my imagination.

I actually intend to mix up a bigger bottle of the Capsicum Heat and add it to various recipes as an experiment to see if it does give any extra throat hit or not. I’ll probably up the percentage too.

Wondering if I can omit the banana? Otherwise the recipe seems divine!
