Yeah I talked to Doug on the phone before I bought mine
They also discontinued the DC400 that I have. Itâs nice having a semi custom guitar that isnât made any more. I have no regrets
I went on vacation for 2 weeks came back and they were discontinued ⌠LOL
I had to beg them to make me one so I got one of the last ones made

I have been looking for a Good wide guitar strap for a long time
Check them out kick ass price
I think that is a lot like mine. I will look and see next time I get my Gibson Acoustic out.
Does anyone else have this amp ? and what do you think of it ?
To get that chicken scratchinâ sound, lift your fingers off the strings while strumming. Itâll give you that classic funky muffled sound.
I didnât listen to all your tracks but you mentioned scales. You might want to ask your teacher about pentatonic scales. These are 5 tone scales and are the basics of blues and rock. If your teacher is of the formal school he or she might talk you into learning your major and minor scales. Thatâs up to you. Depends on how deep you want to go.
You donât suck! You have talent and itâs only a matter of practice. Try to set aside an hour each day. Devote half to rhythm playing and half to scales. Iâm not an advocate of tab reading or diagrams. One because Iâve been formally trained and music is nothing but sound. Some of the greatest musicians, whether in jazz, classical or rock never read a note of music and are self-taught. You can talk theory, technique and itâs all good but donât get caught up in it. For your stated purposes I would just learn the basics and use them to the best of your abilities. If you find thatâs not enough then youâre ready to move on to more. Sounds like youâre having funâŚenjoy!
I donât have it but Marshall makes great tube amps. Really warm with a punch. Any Marshall is good. This one just has some different features like effects loop. It has one 12" speaker which wonât pack a wallop in a large room but effective enough for small clubs. Of course, if youâre miking itâŚ
Haha, makes for good practice. Get it refretted.
My teacher was actually teaching me the pentatonic scales, by having me learn riffs from various songs. I wasnât sure what it was called, but I recognized right away what he was trying to teach me. But when I looked up pentatonic scales I saw that is what he was teaching me. I have been making up a song using that for a while. It seems every time I learn a little something I start making stuff up using it. I have 3 or 4 songs I have played for years that I made up after learning a new thing. If I get a better way to record them I will share them here.
I have 5 guitars setup now. They are setup differently depending on what I feel like playing. I have my Ibanez setup in Drop D Flat tuning for when I want to play the heavier stuff. My SG is setup with standard tuning for playing regular chords and my Strat is setup for playing scales and stuff. Then I have my two acoustics for playing fingerstyle. I need to take them all in and get them tweaked and tuned up. The Strat I just got has major fret buzz. And my Ibanez has some weird detuning issue with a couple strings.
Check out these videos a lot you can do yourself
Cool. I never really thought to see if there were vids on doing it. I have a couple guys that always took care of my acoustics for me who also do electric guitars. I know on my Fender Malibu, two guys have tried to adjust the neck and both said they were afraid the truss rod was going to snap. It doesnât play as it used to. But itâs still decent. It was my dadâs guitar. So I mainly keep it around because he made me promise not to get rid of it.
That sounds like a good guitar to set up for slide then
or just replace the neck ( Got to love bolt on necks )
Itâs not a bolt on neck. Itâs permanently attached. The adjuster is inside the body of the guitar.
I never played that specific amp but I would highly recommend, bringing your guitar into a shop and trying out a bunch.
I wouldnât hesitate checking out some modeling amps, I have a fender Mustang I (think itâs first version). Itâs versatile, was super cheap @ $100âŚI have to hook it up to a computer to access all it has to offer. You can use it as an recording interface for your guitar but that part is garbage (at least on my version) FYI.
There is alot to be said for Tube amps though, especially if you donât have neighboors to worry about. But for me 95% of the time I plug into the mustang rather than firing up a tube amp. Getting me to buy tubes at $120 a set is like pulling teeth.
Good luck
Yeah I was looking at the Mustang IV but they are going to come out with a newer one this summer
I have ordered the Marshall DSL40CST with the Creamback upgrade I just dig the Marshall sound
Check out this technique at 2:16 in the video and he did it years ago
And his strumming triplets are just unbelievable
