Wow that’s a brave choice of colour. But after so many years i doubt the original colour would still work.
well i was 12 when i chose that one.
i still love it. whats so brave about yellow?
Not so bad, but not really my style. Never seen a Cyclone, looks a bit like a Mustang.
i get it
thats your way of saying your not brave
you should quit projecting your insecurities upon me
your a bad influence
OK I was not ready for a psych eval over the colour of a guitar. And no, i rather go with more classic designs, the black over blue is as far as i’d go.
On the other hand, I’m experimenting with mica and metal flake finishes, you’ll need some brave moments for the sparkly stuff.
you don’t need sparkles to prove your masculinity mr influence
because your good enough, you smart enough and doggone it, people like you
you know one of the rules of them forum is dont take warkwarth seriously
im almost always extremely sarcastic which confuses boomers
is this your work?
OK, i can see the mistake now. That brown / black on blue Jazzcaster is what i’m working on at the moment. Just sanded all the lacquer off to the wood. Now re-staining, then trying a different sanding sealer to get a smooth surface for a new round of lacquering. I can’t spray so I have to apply it with a cloth. Sanding it down before buffing is so hard without sanding through the lacquer. So i hope with a smoother surface to start with the sanding will be easier and i eventally get ready for buffing.
I wish. This is a 5 grand guitar from a relatively new company called Novo guitars.
Don’t we all?
Me neither, is it a country specific model? I just made that up. I do remember the Fender Squier.
Wanna post a pic and give me the name?
It’s a Yamaha CX40. Apparently the price went up since i bought it but still OK for what you get. Not sure about the prices in the US though.
I hear good things about the affordable Yamaha classical guitars. Sweetwater is promoting a new affordable one by a company called Cordoba. Sweetwater has a YouTube channel with a guitarist presenting their offerings. You’re probably already aware of them.
In Germany / EU we have Thomann, probably the Sweetwater equivalent. It’s different these days, in the 80s cheap guitars were mostly rubbish. If you buy any $100 guitar from one of the big shops today you’ll be fine. If you buy it in person and not online you can probably talk them into giving it a little lookover by a guitar tech.
