Jungle Flavor Ultimates (Part VI), and One Shots Reviewed by SessionDrummer

Ultimate Cookie Dough (Flavor Jungle) 3% (7-18-25) – I had to spend some EXTRA time with this one, JUST to get my ducks in a row. For my tastes, this one is a MASTERPIECE, and I THINK I know who designed it, but I’m not going to state it publicly. There are a few ok cookie doughs, but there are far more NOT ok cookie doughs. This one, is a GREAT cookie dough. Smelling it in the bottle, WILL make you think you’lve got a bowl, of freshly mixed up cookie dough, right in front of you. One of the things I liked the BEST was that there were no “choco chips” in here, so it was a blank canvas, just ready to be used in any way you wanted. VERY, very good, accurate, and just plain damned tasty. Flour, butter, sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla, and brown sugar were all in here. There may have been some light AP added to give it some weight/grain, but if so, it was VERY low in the mix, so fear not AP-opposers, you are good to go.

At the prescribed 3% it was very good, rich, and full, and MIGHT be able to be pushed up another 0.5%, but I didn’t feel the need to. There was a very realistic grainy-ness, or “bakery weight” as I call it to this one. Not “thick”, but it had some nice “weight” to it, which really helped sell it. Dare I say, if you just wanted a non-choco-chip cookie dough, you could solo this one, ALL day long. It tasted like a 9.5/10 on the strength scale at this weight, and sweetness was at, or JUST below mid-level, which felt good. I realize that “Ultimate” is a brand name, and not a statement, but this one really DID taste like the Ultimate Cookie Dough. Freshly mixed up cookie dough with no choco chips. Hands down, BBA (Big Bottle Approved), and let’s release the Kraken here, with a 10/10.

Saw these two sitting next to each and thought: it can’t be that easy. Kinda sorta was that easy as it turns out and they actually blend quite well together

@robrrt1 that’s an interesting pairing, and don’t know if I would have thought to try that.

Hot Glazed Donut (Flavor Jungle) (One Shot) 8% (7-27-25) – I ended up obsessing over the Ultimate Cookie Dough before moving onto this one. I think the BIGGEST surprise for me on this, yet another Donut flavor, was I didn’t immediately feel like I need to FIX it LOL. To clarify, I can think of maybe only ONE other Donut flavor where this happened. THAT, is a good sign. Repeating from other reviews, donuts always seem to fall into the “Cakey”, or “Krispy Kreme” camp. This one was NO cake, and ALL Krispy Kreme. Matter of fact, it was a damned SPOT ON Krispy Kreme.

It was light and somewhat airy, slightly fried, AND it had the signature “Glazed” frosting on top. Another bonus was it smelled just like a KK in the bottle, AND when testing. Very little difference. Flavor Jungle did a really good job with this one. The dough was light and flaky, and with some surprising grain/grainy-ness with just enough vanilla. A hint of yeast, hint of fried, but not too much of either, and there was NO PLAYDOH !!! At 8% it was perfect, and sweetness stayed about mid-level, which was good for a frosted donut. Despite having about ONE other Donut favorite, I think this One-Shot will now become my 2nd. If you want a Krispy Kreme, then you should pick this one up. No off-notes, or take-offs, and it tasted JUST almost perfect. 9.9/10. Taking off 0.1 for NOT being Hot LOL. That’s about ALL I could nit-pick for this one.
