Oils from the hands?

Yessiree Bob. Oils and salts from hands, and same for coils (another reason for the dry burn)

Thanks for that tip. Wouldn’t of considered that. Not that I don’t wash my hands😂

Does the DR3 come with the plastic leg cutting die in the box? Without one he can’t start. I know the RTA’s do.

I can remember cutting my coil legs to an appropriate length before coily tools. With a new deck might have to snip a bit more once or twice though. Just like you don’t need rods to wrap a coil. Lol
Truthfully I’m grateful for the tools that have evolved for building since while I could wrap functional coils they weren’t particularly pretty.

I’d have to look when I get home… I bought a coily tool first thing after switching to rebuildables, I hate eyeing length and then ruin a set of coils.

I wish I could eye length of coils. I definitely need a coily, even if to just measure the deck height! If ya aren’t using a coily, measure to where the coils come just below the airflow on the dr 3.

I know these came with my Hell Vape RTA’s. They came in the tool bags ( extra screws, hex wrenches, screwdriver)

Cheap for Hell Vape to include and get their customers going out of box. They do have Recurve written on them. So old stock. These are 4mm right 5mm left.

I cut all mine by eye. I’ve never once shorted myself, but have had cut twice. “Which is fine by me!”

My guess is 5mm from the bottom of the coil?

Too much time to do it by eye. I grew up as a carpenter and the first rule of carpentry is measure twice cut once. It’s faster having a leg tool. cuts the time three fold.

not sure what you mean you just want the legs about 5 mm long in your case

I cut all mine by eye now, before that i used a small piece of cardboard paper cut to the right length and then used that to measure the legs

when you cut them though the small piece tends fly off like shrapnel so I do it over the garbage can and might even suggest safety glasses. I just close my eyes / look away during the cut after everything is lined up

If your in the uk you need safety glasses, face guard , hi vis , gloves ,coveralls, risk assessment forms x2 safety box shout three times and a horn

I did a post all about Ohm’s Law. Check it out, it is worth the read. What RDA are you using?

I’ll look for it. RDA is a Dead Rabbit v3

Here you go. No need to search for it.

For the DR 3, the coil legs should be between 5mm and 7mm, depending on how you like your air flow.
