not necessarily overrated, just a bit misleading to the uninitiated.
The 1st page top-rated recipes can’t possibly be the “best” recipes on the site, because there can’t be a best recipe due to the subjective nature of taste. They are just the “most” rated, and at some point, were actually the top-rated in a more realistic sense. Those top-rated mixes just get pummeled with views and ratings every time someone new signs up. (just an observation, not a complaint! ) And, this isn’t to say they aren’t great, I’m sure they are awesome!
I wonder if some of the mixers who are up that high in the ratings, like @SthrnMixer, who has one up there from Spring '16, might have improved their techniques and expanded their flavor arsenals over the last year and a half, and have a few newer mixes that they would rate higher than their top rated recipe, but they are on page 67 instead of 1.
Just thoughts:)
i remember reading about the LB diy kit , that makes a lot of sense i wish i would have researched b4 jumping in to diy , i bought a LB diy kit then went to tpa and cap websites and went through the flaves picking what i thought was gonna be good so i ended up buying a bunch of crap flavors etc , now im on a mission to use up what i have then explore more with FLV i do use a couple of their flavors though , ty for the explanation it is rare to see someone start out with a higher end brand such as FLV , MF etc id suggest going that route instead of the other way around but there are some flaves ill never give up from the big Three
Thanks for your kind words I try to stay under the radar for the most part. I work a lot with my business that is non vape related and I do this for fun and enjoyment! This isn’t a popularity contest for me and I am not going to try to promote myself or juice for personal gains. I’m grateful for this community and for everything I have learned. This is the best seat in town
The best part about this community is we all keep coming back. We might have a few people we don’t really care for but that’s anywhere you get a bunch of different people together, not everyone will agree. Same goes with the way we taste things, not all of us agree as to what the “best” is. Flavoring is so subjective! What’s great to me might be garbage to you and we can agree to disagree. Feedback, experience, and knowledge is great around here though!
I know for me sometimes if I mix someone else’s juice up I get lazy and don’t take the time to review it. Shame on me. I’ve been really working on getting better with that. I’ve also been really trying to keep good notes on single flavors. It’s such PITA though!
this may be the hardest thing about diy , at least for me
im trying to pull myself away from being lazy , i got so lazy this summer i only vaped 3 or 4 recipes it became a chore to mix , i think it was because of the people i was mixing for they were demanding , so i stopped and now mix for myself since then ive developed a few promising original recipes NO MORE REMIXING vendor juice for others
@SthrnMixer has one if the best recipes ever made. Squires Bowl is just so damn good. It goes with me every where. I have 200 ounces on me always. I vape it constantly.
Some of us that mix, mix like Grandmas cooking. We throw shit together and hope for the best. If I wrote everything down I would seriously have 700 recipes. It is a blast for me to create some thing good. My Cherry Summer Suck is one of them off the wall, but damn good ones.
For me, this is a little jewel. Most of my other favorites so far have come from the highly ranked recipes, and I’m not even sure how I was searching that I even found this one, but it’s always in rotation now (and also very nice occasionally mixed with a tiny bit of Sugar Bear/Sugar Drizzle type cinnamony juice).
It’s possibly worth mentioning that I was a fairly burned out on peach before this, having vaped quite a bit of a couple of somewhat aggressively peach-forward mixes for a while, but this is really a lovely light concoction.
Saw there was a recently closed thread about highest and supposedly over rated recipes closed down on here not long ago. At the risk of sounding pompous I think there are a lot of over rated recipes on here because the mixers have youtube channels, groups etc etc so get exposure and a lot of the recipes to me seem so basic and the same old flavours and profiles again and again.
It is pretty much all the opposite reasons that bring about such under rated recipes on here. I am not naming recipes, I dont mix many of other peoples, I may tweak them to what i have or like, but there are mixers popular within these forums and site that I really like, some of which I havent even made a single recipe of Amy and Pro Vapes being two that instantly spring to mind. I also like some users thoughts on concentrates, bluenose63 is the one springs to mind. Why do i respect these people, because they arent plugging themselves and they arent following the crowd, they are always trying out new flavours and experimenting. It is also the reason there recipes arent as high as they probably should be as they arent just using the popular commercial concentrates lots of people have n there arsenal so people dont often have the tools to mix there recipes, but these are the types ofpeople I like to peek at again for new ideas and flavours to try out
