The concept isn’t necessarily to turn hookah into another electronic device. Instead, an electronic heat management device could potentially replace charcoal while keeping the traditional hookah design and ritual largely intact.

California AB 762 — What Could the Proposed Disposable Vape Restrictions Mean for Retailers?
There has been a lot of discussion recently around California AB 762 and its potential impact on disposable vaping products.
The bill has now passed the California Legislature and is awaiting the Governor’s decision.
If signed, the proposed restrictions would be phased in, beginning with manufacturing/import restrictions in 2027 and retail restrictions in 2028.
From an industry perspective, I think the more interesting question is what happens next.
Will manufacturers move toward more rechargeable systems?
Will retailers need to adjust their product mix?
And could California’s approach influence regulation in other states?

Germany’s e-liquid tax could increase again in 2027 — what could it mean for DIY mixers?
Germany’s vaporisable liquid tax is currently €0.32 per ml. The Finance Ministry has proposed €0.33/ml for 2027, while the coalition parliamentary groups are reportedly considering €0.35/ml.
For people buying ready-made e-liquid, the increase may be relatively small per bottle. But for DIY users buying larger quantities of base or other liquid products, the per-ml tax becomes much more significant.
