Question for you all that have used HILIQ

please update if you ever get news about it

I received an email this morning from Hiliq saying its most likely been seized, they offered me a 50% refund minus the shipping or I can repay shipping and they will resend it using a different agent. I told them to just credit my account with it and I will repay shipping in November/December when it cools down again. Haven’t heard a reply or checked my account yet.

Man that bs. “Most likely seized.” Does it still have a chance to come through then?

damn…

just order on free shipping day which happened around november 20th last time i think

you may want to consider ordering smaller amounts like 500ml
not only would you lose less but chances of inspection/seiZure would be less likely i think

probably not, it’s been at canada customs since March 26th. canada post tracking still just says item delayed and at customs for review. I’ve never had anything seized before. Aren’t they suppose to contact or notify me? I still have over half a liter left but yeah this sucks. Will probably just stick with my local supplier after this. I mean at least Hiliq is trying to make things right for me…ish. Just sucks for them, they just released there new page specifically for Canadians to order from and first order this happens. Not a good look. Especially after reassuring me they have agents and discreet packaging, no issues at all.

They all should contact you (imho; not a lawyer here). The government officials that seized your shipment should most certainly contact you (because if they don’t contact you, then in how creepy world we live in?)

and Hiliq too, because the carrier they used for the service should know exactly where the shipment is and what happened with it (and if not, then they have this well insured; because they have to have this insurance; so if they lost it, then Hiliq will get the money back; it only depends what price did they wrote there). Just my opinion.

What insurance company offers a policy for shipping a banned item to a country and it’s seized?

I was living in the UAE when I began vaping. All things vaping were banned. I lost about $400 the first few months. The thought of asking the companies to pay me back never occurred to me.

haven’t heard from any officials or customs at all. And still haven’t had any reply back from Hiliq after they offered the 50% refund and pay shipping again option to me. Nothing credited in my account yet either. Will keep you guys posted.

I would believe that DHL needs to have insurance for the cargo, just like every other logistic company does. Like any truck or every ship has the cargo insured. Since you pay for that service - to be delivered.

Now ‘Banned’ product doesn’t fall under insurance policy ofc, but i would assume that Hiliq is shipping in unmarked bottles (that’s the way they sent the package to me anyway; and that’s the way i got banned Ivermectin from two different countries 5 years ago), so in theory that shouldn’t be a problem, unless ofc it stops on customs - IF they decide to open the bottle (=destroy the product) to examine it (but i assume this is extremely rare case) because otherwise they wouldn’t know what’s inside (if that was the case, then i assume first thing they would do is contact the receiver to make a formal import / to explain what is he importing and show evidences).

But even if that happens, more serious companies often refund your money since they don’t want bad reputation. Seriously, i would be surprised if global company like Hiliq would just hide and wouldn’t want to approach the client. Because of couple of liters of Nic that was sent to Canada in that week? (because if it happened before, then they would probably stopped shipping it to CA to limit the damage and save the reputation and/or fire that manager who’s responsible for that damage) (but who knows; just my speculation)

i would never expect HILIQ to refund a seiZed product
its not their fault whatsoever. its really order at your own risk and thats stated on their website and they do whatever they can to get it to you
if it was lost then i would expect a refund and their insurance probably would cover it

i can’t say that about any other current options i know of

@jbitts

you know you can always call CBSA and inquire its not like your going to be criminally charged i mean they already have your name and address anyways

just say “oh i didn’t know i couldn’t import that”

After like 6-8 order with HILIQ I never had any problems, maybe just the Canadian border, who, I guess, were mesmerized about the label “food flavouring” or “perfume sample” BTW they hold it for 2 weeks every time, but I always receive it.

You should totally contact them, it’s not illegal to import “vaping products” for personal use. You could even argue nicotine concentrate isn’t really a vaping product. It’s still personal use though, nicotine isn’t illegal. Im probably missing something. The whole thing is just total bull-sh though.

we are talking about canada its illegal to import over 65 mg
and even that could be seized regardless

Ow wow. Ffs that’s bs. They’re treating nicotine like it’s effing illegal drugs.
