SXmini and Vulgarian Studio Rotary RTA Reviewed by SessionDrummer

Hehe, @Lynda_Marie, I hear you. I mean look, I didn’t mean to cast it in a negative light. I do however, always try and accurately convey everything, good, bad, etc., to everyone, and in a fair manner, so THEY (or you), can decide for themselves. Far too many reviewers don’t seem to do that.

You’re very welcome and thank you.

LOL @big_vape, that may have had SOME bearing on things, hehe.

Yeah, I’m starting to wonder if I went to HARD on “them” for that. I tried to be fair, and if they had just mentioned a few things in the instructions, I wouldn’t have hammered that point a bit. You are right though, tight fitting rings are the best.

Roger that.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it.

Absolutely, we all appreciate it. AND, since you review a lot of the tanks I use (ahem…all my Osiris’s ), steam craves etc, you are always spot on, in my opinion. I didn’t think of it as a negative, Just something that I’d get irritated about.

Nope, they don’t…not at all.

I completely agree with the 0.8 for MTL. I started with the 3.0 when I first got it running my coffee flavor and it was really nice, then I switched it over to the 2.5 as I wanted just a little more restriction. I really love the 2.5 for very restricted RDL. Currently I’m using the 0.8 MtL for use with my 50/50 Capt. McDuckies Black Cherry Pipe and it definitely shines as a MTL while running a tobacco. I’ve been running MTL with a single wire 2.5id nickel coil at around 1.0ohm.

Thank you @SessionDrummer An honest and thorough review with great photos as always. I’m wondering if the MQ is leaning towards that Danibox look?

Thanks for the review @SessionDrummer ! It looks really neat but I think I will pass on this one. It’s a cool concept but I believe it would drive me crazy heheh.

@McDuckie did you have any of the issues I did, getting it apart ?? Getting the juiceflow to cooperate ??

Thank you @muth, and @UrsusArctis, very much appreciated.

Yup it’s definitely one of those kind of tanks. It’s geared towards those people who really like to dial in their vapes. It’s good as a RDL but it’s great in MTL. That’s where it really shines. And with the MQ having a YIHI board it’s amazing for running MTL with Temp control.

Yes it is a pain when taking it apart. I simply drop the o-rings in some VG before reinstalling them it slides back together just fine. The juice control was the biggest issue for me. Going from a 75/25 juice in RDL to a 50/50 in MTL I got a bit of spit back due to over saturation of the cotton. Though once I figured it out and got it dialed in it’s good.

Yeah, I did that, but WOW, the INITIAL take-apart !!!

Yeah @Lynda_Marie the SC Classic MTL was very good, AND, you could hot swap the pins …

The Glaz mini is the one I have.

I was just going to say I have the Glaz Mini and thought that’s what you meant. It’s one of my tanks with juice in it from a year ago that still needs to be cleaned. I said it in public and embarrassed, lol. It’s a great tank for straight up MTLers. I found it tighter than my Kayfun and modified the AF ring to get more air out of it. I also didn’t appreciate the 2ml capacity when I get 5ml from the KF. Still, a perfect tank for true MTLers who might like high nic and vape like they smoke cigarettes. SC did it right for what it is.

I was thinking about my thumbs when you reviewed this. I have arthritis in my thumb joints and struggle with fiddly tanks. I have to take certain things into consideration when using gear, unfortunately.

@muth, well the good news is, if you ever DID pick one up, you won’t have the issues I did.

Ummm, one of my gear RTA’s I found with juice in it from probably longer than that. Could not get the deck out or top cap so I soaked in warm water to warm the juice to loosen the deck, which worked and then the ultrasonic a few times. Worked it over with a soft toothbrush. I’m wondering if I still have the box to change out the orings…

Comforting to know I’m not alone

I hate it when that happens. I mean, I make a POINT, of clearing, and cleaning everything when I’m DONE done, but dammit, hehe, somehow I always manage to miss a few, only to find them WAY later on, and in the same state.

Yeah, I didn’t want to mention it but I also found a Uwell Crown with juice in it. Lol, not from the time the first one came to market but when I pulled it out to build the RBA. The liquid is so old I can’t even identify it. Thx for sharing @SessionDrummer
