The OBS Crius, an underappreciated RTA

Yes, every time I work with the Ohm ega, I end up drenched in e-juice - so I just sit there, naked, glistening… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: heheh

Nice write up @SirRisc ! Well done…:+1:

I typically use your reviews as a barometer as to whether or not I should take the plunge on purchasing the latest atomizer to hit the scene. Thanks for being our guinea pig! :wink:

That’s great! :slight_smile:

Good review. Makes me want to buy one but I’m already using perfection :wink:

I can only say that it’s the best tank I have ever vaped on… Runs circles around the bellus and I haven’t touched any of my Drippers today and that’s never happened. Running ss316L 24g spaced duals @0.1 ohm in TC on my Xcube 2 and what a treat. Even took her up to 95w in vv for fun and chain vaped without a single dry hit. Loving it, the ease of build, wicking is a breeze filling is a dream and not a drop of juice any other place than in the tank!!

And great review :+1::+1::+1:

My pleasure, mate! I love doing these reviews, and I got a lot more coming. :wink:

There was another post about the Crius a few weeks back, not a review though. I have owned multiple tanks, and have vaped on all of my friends tanks. This is the best tank, the end. Never leaks. Easy wick, easy coil, juice control, different colors, awesome fill, it’s just, it’s so good. I run .4 ohms at 40-50 watts, 26g 6 wrap, nice and easy, awesome vape. Great review by the way!!!

That is a very cool looking tank. Putting it in the cart.

Got a question about the Crius:

It’s side fill…that’s useful. I can see in photos it has an O-ring on which the top of the atomizer seats after using the side fill hole…no leaking when the atomizer lays horizontal. But, is there an O-ring or something which keeps juice from getting in between the pop up top part of the atomizer and the housing where the fill hole is located? Or is there juice which escapes/oozes out when you lift the top to refill the atomizer?

I haven’t heard of this issue yet, but I’m just curious about eliquid dribble when refilling the Crius.

Nope. Juice will get in the top part and it will get slightly juicy when you close it.

I concur, there’s usually a very small ridge of juice. A simple wipe with your finger fixes it though.

Not a big deal! That’s what I was hoping. I’m usually around my mix station (kitchen table) anyway, when I’m refilling my tanks and a rag is typically handy. Now, I’m just waiting for a coupon code from a US vendor to get the price between $20 & $30; Xmas sales are just around the corner. :wink:

It’s a pretty chincy tank. I mean, it vapes adequately IMO, but there’s a real cheapness to it. All the adjustments are loose and easily get out of whack. It’s a nightmare in the car in the dark. Juice control moves and I hope you have TC or its dry hit city. Mine was really bent and leaking from the non-serviceable area between the juice control and AFC. I bent it as straight as I could get it and the leak is basically gone…but I’ve got to say there really is nothing particularly special about it…if I lost it I’d just buy another Billow. One man’s opinion.

Do you have the v2 or v3? I have the v3 with Velocity deck and there is no looseness at all. I actually have to give it a good push to rotate the juice control. Build quality wise it feels like the most solid tank I own. I do wish you could separate the bottom part, but that’s just a small quibble for me. I do not own the Billow to compare it too though.

I have a black v3 and it’s sloppily than any tank I own. I guess while we’re on it I don’t care for the side fill either.

I like mine - but I like my Aromamizer a little bit more :wink:

It’s in my top 3 RDTA’s, behind the Cthulhu V2 and the Aromamizer. Quality of construction is adequate, but not on par with the other two. The velocity style deck is on the smallish side, and with spaced coils of 2.5mm about 7 wraps is going to be all that will fit. The tank is kinda small also, no way you can get 4.2 ml in there. I managed to squeeze 4 ml in there, but then as mentioned above had to grab a rag when closing it to wipe up the mess. The positive post insulator is cracked and this seems to be an ongoing problem with them, but so far is not leaking. I got this tank from WetVapes and they shared the OBS answer when they asked them about it;

1, this ceramic material is more evirenment than others , but it is friable.
2, the insulator is always to be cracked while producing , but it won’t effect its works and will not leek.
3, we have fixed this problem already, the cracked number will be less , but still exist."

Pretty funny huh…

Got the steel one… Solid as a rock!!

Love everything about it and dry hits… Not one. How do you wick it? .

Really? Solid…as a rock?

I was referring to the juice control being sloppy, cutting off juice while in the dark in the car, and if not in TC you get a dry hit.

I have no problem with wicking, to answer your question I use hemp.

It’s an OK tank, but I don’t have a top 3. I’m actually becoming a little disillusioned with the new tanks. Not that I like the old, I just prefer to drip. Better decks, better flavor, no leaking. I really hate the leaking upon refill.
