sweet! and you got the G4, right?
gotta lemme know how it goes!
i wasnt too impressed with the coils that came in the TF-RDTA, so i put my own in, but i really enjoyed the TF-RTA G4 with the coils that came stock in it.

Just finished washing, wicking, filling and test vaping.

The G4 - excellent! I put this one on my xCube since it was handy. Even at max power and 140 watts, the ramp up time is silly. But it handles chain vaping surprisingly well considering the Griffin style wick channels. I do like the vape but am wondering how I may use this with TC. What…maybe 4 coils of Ti 22ga at 3 wraps each? Ahhh, probably won’t have much luck redoing it for TC, but even still it’s a phenomenal vape with the claptons that came pre-installed.

The TF-RDTA. I left the fused claptons in this and I do like the vape - very, very much, but I’m thinking the Ti build I love so much will be even better. Just judging by the design, this looks to potentially be a leaker, although as I type this it’s dry as a bone. I just don’t believe it would remain so unless kept upright at all times. Am I wrong about that? Oh and one other thing. I’m not digging the spitback on this tank. I can’t blame loose wicking for this. Not a doubt about that.

Overall I’m very pleased with both of these tanks and really, really looking forward to tinkering with these two.

I went with 26g SS and like it much better. Stock coils ramp up was silly.

There’s so many TF tanks hard to know which is which! WHat’s the difference between say, the RDTA and the G2?

304, 316, 316L, or 317?

Silly good? Or silly bad? Lol

@SthrnMixer thanks for your thoughts. I’d been watching another thread where those two were a pretty hot topic (in a good way), but I absolutely cannot stand spitback. Haven’t had much success other than the velocity v1 (that I’m still figuring out the finer details) and a Tsunami that I tested in a retail front that was “off the charts” good, and zero spitback! Definitely trying to gleen all I can on the RDTA though!

I’ll chime in…when it comes to SS, its your choice. We all use our own preference of SS…but they are all pretty close to the same. 304 is cheaper, 430 is stiffer, 316l and 317l are cleaner as far as metal goes. But all SS tastes super clean.
And silly as in bad…took forever to ramp up.

Go to smoktech.com and look at the two side by side. If you need more info then, ask again.

I went with 316L, but pick your poison. Silly bad. Super long ramp up.

I bought two TF-RDTA’s last month. The silver one was DOA, would not read on any mod.
The black one was fine, ramped up fine, OEM coils not too bad, and no leaks after some serious tightening on the base…
until a few days ago. It quit reading contact on any of my mods. If you have one, you know there is almost no adjustment on the pin.
After much searching, I found some new coil decks to buy [S2 deck] and they came today. I will try that and see if any improvement.
I like everything about the two, except one thing…neither one is working.

Nice!! Definitely on the shortlist of respectable folks (and fun to watch, especially the road trip vids). lol
As well as Phil Busardo, and Matt & Vanessa…

I’ve got to ask though, where’d ya get the VapeMat? =D
Reminds me of somewhat of my ‘writing mats’ that were sold by office max/depot? years ago, but I use them as a non-skid/non-conductive base for the electronics that I work on! Love when things get repurposed (without “abusing them” or “risking safety” that is. Foil around a fuse is repurposed…but it’s a fool’s errand to do so.) =P

Agreed  as for the mat check out

They do custom ones…as you can see from mine lol.

Good quality. Like a mousepad but not as thick, which is good.

Figures it’d be that simple… didn’t want to ‘assume’ though. We all know how that goes. /chuckles/
