what a golden era hey?.
Especially the 1960 to mid 70’s period
and especially out of little england.
Still to the day 5 of the top 7 bands for album sales came from england and that era.
Only the eagles and AC/DC stop them from having the top 5
Mustve been something in the water.
Beatles, zeppelin, pink floyd, the stones, deep purple, queen, rainbow, sabbath, the kinks the who, among others
We had real muso’s then, today they have cardi-b lol.
What the hell happened?
To be fair there are some good muso’s around but not quite like that era.
for me zeppelins live concerts were just crazy.
3 to 4 minute songs from albums, stretched out to 10 - 30 minutes & just full of improv.
No quarter, Whole lotta love, Dazed and confused, Since ive been loving you, just wow.
This, “the song remains the same” concert at madison square garden was awesome.
They were at their peek and probably started to burn out a bit in the years following.
Sorry to spam the thread with zep songs, as you can gather im a bit of a fan.
For the song “since ive been loving you” Apparently, the great BB King once said: This is the best blues ever written, and after a short pause he added, by the white man, and he laughed.
I love the improv section in whole lotta love at around the 5.20 mark
“shake it baby, shake one down for elvis” lol.
frampton’s pretty cool to
My new personal anthem…
lol.
stu copeland is a shit hot drummer though
Yeah but Andy is a fantastic guitar player. He played on Jon Lord’s Sarabande album.
Solo here from 6.15:
oh shit yeah, dont get me wrong, andy had a top voice to, in his own right.
Growing up i had a bit of a thing for copelands drumming, i liked his style / technique.
They were a very fine band the police but personally i didnt consider them quite in the same league of some of the earlier brit bands.
Its all subjective of course.
That is cool though i didnt know he played with lordy.
Just the one album was it?
He was an awesome muso lord
As far as I know it was just that one album but don’t quote me on that!
Ditto! At least if you’re standing by a vaper you know if their breath hits your personal bubble or not!
Nervous about a potential paternity suit by a teen female eh? Telling. Very telling. lol
Been 20 years don’t miss this one.
Yeah, no.
Besides, I’ve been out of that for so long now, I think my virginity grew back.
always loved a bit of slide guitar but what about slide shovel or ironing board? lol
among other weird and wonderful guitars.
Hes a talented guy this justin johnston
or how bout some stevie ray vaughan?
spose we cant list all the shit hot guitarists without this guy either
