This is one that I love to play every Christmas Eve along with some Gregorian chants and it’s become a bit of a tradition of mine. I listen to this sat by a real Christmas tree with just the tree lights twinkling and a few candles dotted about, the light from from the open fire flickering around the room and dancing on the walls. The smell of fresh pine has that wonderful smell of Christmas and It makes me think about what Christmas must have been like back in those earlier times. Merry Christmas all.
Oh a very traditional way to welcome in the Christmas period. I must admit that I need to hunt for Christmas lectures to watch while digesting a zoo.
I very much appreciate tradition and old fashioned things hence my love of antiques, maybe I’m just an old eccentric Good luck with finding some enjoyable lectures.
Well I repeatedly get told off for buying old books. I find removing a zero before admitting to the cost helps.
After learning that Maxi Jazz has left the stage, it’s time for a Faithless Christmas Eve.
I very much enjoy watching Professor Roberts documentaries so I shall save this to watch on Boxing Day when hopefully I will get some piece and quiet. Thank you for sharing. Season’s Greetings to your good self and family.
You too and your kith and kin.
I’ll post links if I spot any other great publicly available ones. Sadly many are stuck behind university logins and my private cloud.
I love The Eagles. Almost all of their music was blocked on YouTube till Glenn Frey passed so never saw this vid b4 this morning. Love seeing their young baby faces.

It’s a bit of an annual tradition between a few eccentrics to go through predictions: They like to go through Mother Shipton and Nostradamus, while I go through R.E.M. and then see who’s got the best handle on eschatology (theology surrounding the End Times).
R.E.M. have already successfully predicted the rise of Trump, Snakes on a Plane, and Lenny Bruce not being afraid after his death. (A fun game of confirmation bias).
One of my favorite live albums. I am a retired engineer [architectural/structural][and retired gynecologist], and some know of my sound engineering in the 60’s and 70’s. I was on a job in Osaka, a friend sent me a telegram to assist if I could because I was in Japan. I met Marty [Birch] when doing some stuff with Fleetwood Mac. He was there to promote Deep Purple and the recordings in Japan, their record company was in Tokyo. It was a blast - people there are so polite.
These recordings super-charged their career/fame. There are tapes somewhere, audio and video, of much much more of them from their stay in Japan.
Time for (Part VII) 2023
That instantly triggered this for me:
Seems we both have eclectic playlists in our heads.
After mentioning tartrate earlier - Still have this in my head:
Sometimes I wonder, if I may be losing my incident room.
