What Are You Listening To? (Part VI) 2022/23

Wow ! Thanks for the share. This had to be in the early to mid 70s. Both Brothers were incredibly talented. #RIPJohnnyWinters

You’re welcome! Yea these guys were my go to back in the 70’s. I actually played this song on guitar in the 5th grade school talent show in 1975 or '76. The teachers and principal shut off the mic and dragged me off stage before I made it to the first chorus part because of the lyrics… My folks thought it was great

Thanks for the memories. As @Mark_Turner said, these two were musical masters.

Man, I used to listen to these guys ALL the time back in the day. Yeah, I might be getting on in years but so glad I was born when I was, otherwise I might’ve missed all this…

Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb (The Wall, 1979)

When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I have become comfortably numb

Saw FMc in concert about 30 years ago (jeez I’m old). Great concert but she kept walking off stage every other song. She was pretty heavy then and probably out of breath. Still a great show.

Was going thru some albums and found The Almost Famous soundtrack. Unopened. Don’t know why I never listened to it. Forgot all about this one:

Then I had to look for this:

When I saw them about 10 yrs ago they had to cut the concert short because Mick the drummer was sick. I was so PO’d. I spent over 300 for that ticket which nowadays sounds cheap. LOL

Loved that movie!! Great song!
And Montrose… early Hagar. I have the vinyl too.

Yikes, I’d be pissed! I’m pretty sure I paid under 30 bucks per ticket back in 1990. Actually cheaper than a tank of gas at today’s prices. Hell, with the car I drove back then I don’t think I’d be able to afford driving it and the cost of today’s ticket prices.

I didn’t hate Hager with Van Halen, but thought he was a perfect fit with Montrose.

@Mew I’m aging myself right now but I can remember when I first started going to concerts the average price for TWO major bands was $7.95 - $12.95! You can barely get a cup of coffee for $7.95 now! lol

Upside…I was able to see the full band before they fired Lindsey Buckinghan and Christine McVie died.
They made it through about 2/3 of the concert at least. But it did suck.

I’d love to hear who you saw play live for the price of a cup of coffee. :star_struck:
