Sorry to hear of your loss @Mew, and I can only hope that he/she is now in peace. I personally know, a large number of Vietnam vets, and heard stories upon stories. Many of them, were also affected by A.O., and I’ve seen many of the long term effects. Very sorry for your loss.

Thank you for all the condolences. He was surrounded by his loved ones on his death bed at home after he decided he was done with the chemo etc. The Vets came and the look on his face when a Colonel saluted him was priceless as he weakly saluted back. The military funeral was touching. Watching the somber faced soldiers unfold and refold the flag then hand to his widow was moving. I sat next to her and hearing the words… “On behalf of the president of the United States…we honor his service…” on bended knee. Tears fell.
His last words. “Beautiful! Beautiful!!” His daughter asked, What Dad? Do you see heaven? He said, " Yeah… and you’re gonna love it here."
