Lets get one thing straight before we dive into this, despite the packaging of this mod reading “Killer 260w Mech Mod” this is not a mech mod it has a chip in it which by default just makes it a minimally regulated mod (as the chip does have a few protections).
Packaging.
The box on this mod is big for the size of the mod and it really doesn’t contain a lot of things just the mod and an instruction manual. The instruction manual is simple yet comprehensive including the ratings on the potentiometer with different resistance coils which is a nice touch.
The Specs & Boring Bits

- Mod size (L x W x H): 6.50 x 5.50 x 2.50 cm / 2.56 x 2.17 x 0.98 inches
- Mod weight: 0.2200 kg
The mod is made from zinc alloy which gives it a solid hefty feel (380g ish with batteries and tank). The fire speed is pretty much instantaneous and the manufacturer quotes it at .025 sec.
The 510 is solidly held in with screws so I cannot see it coming adrift the centre pin is spring loaded and either gold plated or brass it has a good amount of travel which can be handy for those toppers that have a slightly longer 510 than the norm.
The mod is available from Gearbest in a black or a light grey (the manufacturer calls it blue/grey). I believe it also comes in a silver or pink.
The Mod
The mod is turned on in the standard fashion 5 x clicks on or off depending on its current state. When turning on you will be greeted by a mini light show on each side of the mod consisting of 3 led light that cycle from red to green to blue (on). When turning off the led banks will flash twice in blue. While the power button is depressed the led lights will indicate the battery level blue for 100%, purple for 50% and red for under 30%. The potentiometer is easy to turn and no tools are required to turn it (see the above image for wattage rating on different resistance coils.
The build quality on this mod is, well lets say I see it as average. The top panel on the mod I received is not quite aligned not so bad as it looks terrible just bad enough that it is noticeable, the equivalent, I suppose to a car that has had a repair after an accident.
There is a slight gap at under the tank due to the curvature of the mod.
I do like the large fire button on the front of the mod which runs almost the entire height of the mod however, it has a rattle which I have to say is a pet hate of mine. The button protrudes slightly making this mod not a mod you want to put in your pocket without turning it off. It does have a 10 second time out but as with all mods if it is jostled around in your pocket you can accidentally press the fire button multiple times for 10 seconds.
The mod is all zinc alloy but the battery door while solid, is black flexible plastic. In the case of a battery failure the is no visible venting but I guess the plastic battery door would come to the rescue by melting in to nothingness.
Overall the mod looks great but is let down by a few little things.
Pros.
- Fast fire
- Solid 510 with a long spring loaded travel.
- Simple operation (well explained in the instruction manual)
- Nice feel in the hand and a good heft to it
Cons.
- Rattle in the button
- Plastic battery door.
- Misaligned panels.
Conclusion
For the money I would have expected a little more from this mod it does what it is supposed to and does it well but the little things take away from the overall experience, leading me to say if this mod was lost or got beamed up by aliens I would not replace it with another. I would probably save a little coin and buy the cheaper but better Smoant Charon Adjustable or the Dovpo MVV which are both similar in stats and operation.
