Coil Building show offs!

they are unbelievable some of these aren’t they, I seriously wouldn’t know where to start lol, there was guy sat in a tent @ Vapefest churning out all kinds of coils for people, I was mesmerised by it.

Was that in the Limitless tent?

If so that would have been Neal aka thehoopswxxnker

Really good builder and member of the Build Faction Team.

I honestly don’t know who he was, we had a brief discussion as I was looking for someone who had some .22 Ti I could buy so I asked him if he knew of anyone and he went on to say of his dislike for Ti coils…and I quote “I don’t use Ti, you have to get it right, all that Titanium dioxide makes my arse twitch” …
If that sounds like something he’d say then yes it was him lol …

Ok so, today I decided to have a crack at building my first ever coil that wasn’t just a ‘spring’
This is my first attempt, I watched a video then just got stuck in, it’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I am actually quite pleased with how it turned out, seeing as it’s my first ever one!
its 2 x .26 twisted kenthal wrapped in a single .28, 3mm d, coming out at 0.11 duel.
and as the proud father I am happy to tell you that both clouds and flavour are both very healthy and doing really well :+1:

wouldn’t mind some pointers/tips from the experts on my first coil build, I couldn’t quite get it to line up properly but I really enjoyed making it, Its definitely something I want to learn more about :grinning::+1:

forgive my ignorance I’m a noob to coil building (only made 1 lol) but how do you achieve that wave in the clapton? what’s that method called??..I love it :+1:

It’s called alien wire.

Original concept by a guy called @blueeyedgoon83 on Instagram.

There’s a few build tutorials on YT that can help but ultimate it’s a reverse wrapped Clapton that decored, stretched out and then forward wrapped around a core.

ahhhh right I see, I just seen a picture of yours further up I can see it now, thanks man :+1: maybe get a few more builds under my belt before I attempt something like that lol

There’s a learning curve with Aliens that’s for sure.

But once you understand the basics and how much to stretch out the Clapton it’s not that hard.
