Koopor and firmware updates

It’s a pc download directly to the device. I then you set up profiles for what wire your using. There are all types on customizations even a battery set up feature. This one is technical but the end results are predictable.

The cable you need for the update is an ST-Link V2 STM8 STM32 Programmer

They are actually only around $3, here is one… http://www.ebay.com/itm/181928110879?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D181928110879%26_rdc%3D1

Here is the actual software upgrade guide by scappi, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1u_4dTG8_kyOi2wa3OMCrawK6Kv3ViKisB1Mg-jOdkc0/pub

And here is a forum of people helping others on how to do the upgrade by scappi, https://www.fasttech.com/forums/3311300/t/1866568/about-koopor-mini-firmware-upgrade/3

Hope all that helps

Is anyone any the wiser as to how to get the upgrade firmware for koopor plus it’s the only reason I bought the bloody thing

Don’t bother. You need special hardware as well as the software. My advice is give it away to someone that is just starting out. This thing will frustrate you to no end in TC modes. In power mode it does OK but you can get much better mods than this one.

Can you tell me how even if it’s a headache

well…when I had mine it would NEVER stay in TC mode. No matter what build or wire I used (except NI. Never used it) it would always jump back to power/wattage mode. A few times it would not read the resistance correctly and all my builds were double checked on a stand alone ohm-meter. The usb port has no use whatsoever to the average user. In order for a computer to read the port, you have to have a specialized adapter that is not cheap and not easy to find. The cost of the adapter is not worth the price to upgrade this thing. You’re other alternative is to send it to an authorized Koopor service center to have it upgraded (at your cost) and you may get it back in a month. This thing was badly designed from the start and although I haven’t read anything about it lately, the last I checked, Koopor wasn’t responding to any inquiries about this model so they may have washed their hands of it.
I tried to use it in wattage mode, but knowing it was capable of doing more and not being able to do it, drove me bat-shit crazy. I gave it away along with a referral for mental health services.
It is a pretty thing though quite a fingerprint magnet. Don’t get me started on how that gave me OCD.
