Water Filtration Systems

I’m not arguing for or against added filtration. Just saying drinking city water isn’t exactly like drinking from the toilet.

Standards are set at the federal level.
Here is a link that has more information than you’ll ever need.

Now Wisconsin and Michigan have both had water quality issues, but they have always been caused by them not meeting the minimum requirements. So I understand that you feel filtering your water is a must and hey if it gives you the warm fuzzies by only drinking botteld or filtered water go for it! But don’t tell someone they are wrong for drinking water that comes out of their tap. I do it and unless you use filtered water to brush your teeth then your drinking it as well!

Oh that’s not me at all! I was not referring blindly following the ‘always perfect government’, I was more referring to being shamed for deciding not to use further filtration.

Nothing here worth creating a big debate about. Filter further if it makes you happy, don’t if it doesn’t. Carry on, do what ya dig, and don’t make anyone feel bad for doing something you don’t is all. Happy vaping happy life happy happy!

I advocate for people and their rights too, believe me. I’m no big government shill.

I agree and was not singling any person out. I advocate informed decisions is all, whatever that is as long as no one is harmed by it.

And so we’re all on the same page… given the choice, choose the one on the left, eh?

It’s just a little turbidity.

I actually have a quite expansive vocabulary. I just don’t use it very often because I get blank stares from people when I’m explaining something.

Turbidity is suspended solids in a liquid.

Honestly my Dad was sure to impart on us the importance of a large vocabulary. I can relate. It does help you keep up with a lot of otherwise lost conversations. Some people have a way with words, others not have way.

Thanks, but I have Google too.

I read something scary today that has me re-thinking this whole thing… Everyone who drank unfiltered water in the 18th century is dead now. Holy crap!

Our tap water is not too bad, we drink fridge filtered tap water for its superior taste. I was once stuck in the desert with no water and had to drink the melted ice from coolers, It tasted like bologna and it worked well sustaining our life, but I’d really only give it 1 star

Our tap water is god-awful, but I don’t think it’s my city’s fault. I think the pipes in the house I am staying at are old and disgusting. I think whoever added the part I live in did it themselves, and I don’t think they did the plumbing (or anything important for that matter) right. I’d love a better filtration system, but for now I’m just using a Pur filter on the sink and a Brita pitcher in the fridge. At least it doesn’t taste like it smells. I’m scared to test it. I don’t wanna know. I’m not dying (that I know of) so I decided to leave it at that. LoL.

Testing is cheap, here the city does it in the water lab for $30.00 it’s not a full battery of tests but it’s the ones that will make you sick. They give you the bottle and tell you how to do it. I do one a week for a Realator in my area.
