What am I doing wrong? No flavor

Yes .5, must need more caffeine. Thanks for catching my mistake.

Just an update I’ve lowered the percentages down but still not getting good flavor which I’m hoping isn’t a bad sign, I’m going to let that steep a few days try it again see if it pop’s out.

Slightly different question now I’ve read up that fruit flavors or most don’t really require a steeping period would this be considered correct? Or am I being to hopefully on shaking and vaping it prematurely after mixing?

Its not correct as well as not incorrect.

There’s no general rules/laws, when it comes to mixing. Flavor and taste is subjective, some people enjoy juices, especially fruits right after mixing, others like to steep them.

It depends on the brand really, some also include alcohol and you might find it unpleasant vaping these right away.

Others might have a harshness to them for a couple of days. Some profiles fade quickly and so on.

My suggestion, try after mixing if you like them, if not let stand 24hrs, test again. Test after 3 days , then another time after 7 days and so on.

From your %'s it appears you are looking for a strong strawberry.
The only way I can achieve that is to use three different strawberry flavors together.

I am not familiar with Sugar Daddy sweetener, is it a sucralose, a sucrose, a ?
I only use a stevia stone.

If I mixed your ingredients, it would be:

Double Kiwi 3%
Strawberry Ripe 2-3%
Strawberry (?) 2%
Strawberry (Taffy?) 2%
Dragonfruit 1-1.5%
Sugar Daddy 0.5%

Then adjust from there, if needed.

Obviously, I added two Strawberry flavors.
I would also add 0.25+% of Pear or Cactus
I would have used my Stevia stone with ACV and lime juice
instead of Sugar Daddy.

Not that it matters and I don’t use it either, but apparently and allegedly its the new “innovative” thing. Here’s a description:

Rick’s Sugar Daddy Sweetener (VG Base)

*This is a concentrated liquid sweetener with the true taste of sugar!

-No chemical aftertaste

Only source I found is Canada and I found some reddit threads that tried comparing it with sweetener, super sweet, stevia etc. No result really besides "oh I think it is…"no data sheet? o.O

Too the OP:

Thought I throw that in here, maybe starting with 0.25% might be better, till we know what it is?

Might be EM for all we know, strawberry ripe contains it by itself already, at 10% with all the other ingredients plus extra unknown sweetener, could be the main problem as others stated. Maybe you can’t taste strawberry etc.

I mix up unflavored base with the nicotine, PG and VG but no flavors, and add that as a diluent. your Nic % will be off some (stronger) but you don’t lose Nic as you dilute your liquid. Never throw anything away, and add a label. sometimes what you think tastes bad today will be great in 6 months.
before you pour liquid down the drain, try:

Cool, I am not against innovation, but…
I still strongly prefer a '55 Nomad Wagon over a Toyota Camry, eh?

I shall stick with my stevia stone, both of them.

@O0what0o My experience is that simpler fruits do not need as MUCH steeping. Complex custards, cremes and bakeries almost always require more steeping. But as mentioned above, there isn’t one rule. I do have many fruits that are shake and vape, a few that are good after a week, but many of my custard/cremes I won’t even touch till after a month. FYI smaller bottles/batches steep faster than larger bottles. Leaving a nice air pocket at the top of your bottles helps speed steeping along a bit too, as opposed to filling to the top.

I’ve always preferred the '57, myself.

Also, what is this “stevia stone” that you’ve been on about? Saw you reference this in another thread and curiosity is getting the better of me.

I’m gonna throw my two bits into this as well as others: I’ve found that most fruits need a few hours to start to come together-even the ones that are listed as a “Shake and Vape”. There are a couple of tricks(I REFUSE to call them “hacks”!) to speed up the process. They are:

  1. Warm water bath. Place your finished bottle of juice into a Crock Pot full of water, set it on “Low” then walk away for a few hours. This loosens up the VG and helps get everything to mix. Some say that this dilutes/deadens the flavors, but I haven’t noticed it in the year or so that I’ve been mixing. (OK: Truth Time. I actually heat up my VG using the above method and mix with it heated. I’ve found that it helps in the shaking/blending)

  2. Mix your juice well! Think that you’ve shaken that bottle enough? Do some more. The bottle should be almost cloudy from the amount of shaking that you’ve done to it, so go after it like a meth-headed Mama choking out her boyfriend!

Alternatively, you could use a mechanical mixing aid to blend your juice. I’ve got a $6 drink mixer I picked up off of Amazon that I use since I can’t shake things too well(Nerve damage sucks, yo.)
The one I use is this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Norpro-Cordless-Mini-Mixer-Piece/dp/B000E39LYO/ref=pd_bxgy_79_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000E39LYO&pd_rd_r=DAANSNXDXABAV6B19ANK&pd_rd_w=1WFIv&pd_rd_wg=aIi6c&psc=1&refRID=DAANSNXDXABAV6B19ANK

I’ve found that a 20-30 second blast is more than ample enough to get the juice mixed. The small wand that looks like a stick that’s been sawn in half along it’s length works a treat! Stay away from the metal one: It doesn’t fit into a bottle and chews the ever-loving bejeebus out of plastic(YES, I learned that one the hard way. Also, don’t try to stop the blades from turning. They are sharp and love fingers for breakfast)

Will my juices win awards? Most likely not. But, the ones that I’ve shared with others have been well-received, so I know I’m not completely off the mark. Hope this helps-Cheers!

So the flavors I’m using also boils down to and using different flavors to accompany it as well I’ll take from that thank you again for the replies.

My issue is I’m not getting a lot of flavor id like I’ll get a sight sweetness but I won’t taste the strawberry or kiwi flavors or when I mixes a single kiwi flavor no sweetner it’s the same just slight sweetness but no flavor compared to other diy juices that are available in my province that when I vape it’s a peach flavor I’ll taste the peach

Just out of curiosity what device are u using and what are your settings? Maybe that’s the issue.

Voopoo too I’ve been switching between my tank which is a u well crown 3 and my rda which is a apocalypse gen 2 with two alien coils at .1 ohm been fluctuating from 40-80 watts trying to see if ill get any flavor but it’s just sweet like the vg ,trying to create a ejuice that I’d be able to vape all day.

I got my concentrates vg and pg at vapecity.ca and I’m using a 100mg/ml pg nic concentrate

I reckon the key to ADV’s is to have the flavor present but almost out of reach. I get flavor fatigue very quickly and find that less is more.

So say 5% strawberry ripe 3% kiwi double and 1% dragonfruit take it down .5 dragon 1 kiwi and 3% strawberry ?

I am going to research and order a few different strawberrys as well few other flavors and get and get a good stand alone and try layering the strawberry to get some good flavor

I gotta say, your initial %, before aleration look good to me (keep in mind that I’m no expert and I don’t have kiwi double) If anything I’d bumb the dragonfruit up to 3 - 4% as it has a very noticeable flavor at those %, which is what I think your chasing. I have trouble tasting strawberry at the best of times, I’ve only one recipe (its not mine) where the strawberry stands out and its Cap sweet strawberry at 4.5% (I think) with other goodies at low %'s.

Also, as I’ve discovered recently, poor wicking can stifle flavors horribly, even if your not getting dry hits. Try manually saturating your coils and give it a crack
