A breakdown of cost

Just for anyone wondering whether DIY is worth it,
So to start with, the base.
From various UK sources (I use Darkstar) VG and PG costs roughly £00.50 per 100 ml, when buying 1 litre.
For simplicity, let’s assume they’re equally priced. That’s a little under 15p of VG and PG per 30ml bottle.
The nicotine solution will set you back ~£30 per litre at 7.2% nicotine.
When aiming for 3mg/ml that’s 1.2ml of nicotine solution, costing ~10p, per 30ml bottle.

Flavours cost between £1.50 and £3.50 depending on brand. Let’s make things simple and average it at £2.50 per 10ml.
An average flavour concentration in a mix is 15%, costing around £1 per 30ml bottle.
Then you’ve got accessories like bottles and syringes, costing a further £10-15.

So to sum it up that’s £1.25 for 30ml of juice!
The same juice you’d pay 15 quid for in a vape shop!

Yep, cheap as hell! I charge my customers $5/30ml and give them $1 off for every glass bottle they return to me. Cheap AF for them, and it more than covers all of my supplies.

super smart ive always wondered how to charge , especially when someone wants me to remix an existing vendor juice which in some cases can take a couple months with several versions the beauty of it for the buyer is it always ends up being better

I’ve only had three requests to copy a vendor juice. I told them it wouldn’t be exact but I’d try to get close. Two of those ended up being hits and they were single flavor mixes (purilm fruit circles and rf blueberry acai pom). The other was a flop. If I make something for someone and they hate it, I’ll throw in a free bottle the next time, but for copycat recipes I still charge the same as anything else, $5/bottle.

The latest juices I make, mostly with Flavour Art concentrates come out at around £0.85 per 30ml @ 3mg nic.
I buy my base from Darkstar as well and most flavors come from chefsflavours.

Don’t judge the price of your e-liquid by the price of your 10ml flavor concentrate. Check out how these concentrates are used in recipes. The strength of the concentrate makes a huge difference in the price of your juice.
No matter how much you pay for your VG, PG or nicotine, your flavors will always be the most expensive part of your juice.
Maybe this will change a bit for nicotine after the TPD in Europe, but this is how it’s always been so far and still is in most countries.

Just for anyone who wasn’t aware, you can put your price and size for your flavors in your flavor stash, and the price and size of your Nicotine, PG, and VG in your user preferences. Then, the price line on your recipes will reflect how much it costs to make each recipe based on how much of each ingredient is used (minus bottle price).

Wouldn’t it be nice to have like a default price for concentrates so that a juice’s price is always shown.
E.g. all TPA juices cost 1.65, all CAP 2.25 and be able to make adjustments for specific concentrates.

If you don’t have a flavor or forgot to enter the price for a particular flavor, the calculation’s off on the site.
It would also give new people an immediate idea of the cost, and if/when they get into it, they can fine-tune to their own real costs.

Yep, if you buy VG and PG and flavors in bulk quantities you can get it in the less than a dollar a bottle range.

People have to enter in what they paid for it and with vendor 10% off sales and stuff… database nightmare.

You also have US vs UK vs other global forms of currency mentioned on this site.
