A couple of tests with Saline solution added

First off no need to diss me, I know not everyone thinks Saline is a good idea, but it is something I wanted to try out

I Finally got round to mixing some test samples, using a pre mixed 0.9% saline solution from a UK medical supplier (cost 60p delivered for a 20ml sachet)

Chose 4 flavours to sample Lime Tahity (FA), Strawberry Ripe (TPA), Raspberry (MF) and Peanut Butter (FLV)

Selected these four flavours as one is citric, sweet, tart and savoury so hopefully will show how it works with different types of flavour.

I mixed a plain sample, one with 1% Saline and another with 2% Saline all have the same amount of concentrate % to see if the saline alters the final taste in anyway.

Over a three week period tried out all my samples at different steeping times and overall have been pleased with the finished results (especially the peanut butter).

I have found the saline with fruits has acted as more of a smoothing influence on the fruit flavours calming down the citric or sweetness effects of the fruit ones especially the lime and strawberry and although it has a noticeable effect especially on these 2 flavours. Anything above 1% saline in the mix started to mute the actual fruit flavour as well. So working with drops rather than %'s may be more beneficial with the small amounts needed.

The standout mix was the Flavorah Peanut butter @ 2% with 1% Saline steeped for at least 3 weeks. What an absolutely fabulous finished flavour, the control sample with no saline is a very good vape on its own. but the saline version is so smooth, the sweetness of the Peanut shines through and the buttery notes standout with just a hint of slightly sweet salt in the background, a much more rounded authentic peanut butter flavour than compared to the control sample. Really tasty.

I have used the same coil, just rewicking for the different flavours and dry burning the coils when I did. Coils glowed fine and showed no signs of deposits on them and they had 120ml (80 of which contained saline) used on them and still are very usable.

Only a small test sample so far, but something I am going to persevere with and at 60p delivered for the sachet for a 20ml quantity approx. Worth investing in imho, if this sort of thing interests you also.

I tried a little saline solution after I was advised by another member about its smoothing effect and was also impressed. I used it along side a mix of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, anise and koolada. It gives a sort of thicker feel to the vape. I believe I used 1 or 2% as you did in your test.
I’ve not used again since only as I had forgotten about it but think it could be a great additive to use to create that thick and smooth feel to a vape.
I couldn’t find much data on the safety of vaping saline but as it’s not burned I’m assuming it’s pretty safe, someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Did you notice a difference going from 1 to 2 percent (in terms of smoothing, I can see you felt I it muted the flavour)?
