Any pool players here?

For last Xmas dinner we went to a place where they had pool tables and for the first time in about 20 years i had a cue in my hands and it felt really good… So from January on, i’ve been playing again 3-5 times a week, updated the equipment a little and I’m totally enjoying it.

Unfortunately, in my absence from the game some idiots invented 10ball. A true game for people like data base programmers and irs agents. I’m refusing to play so far, but I guess I’ll have to at some point.

And the other annoying thing in pool these days are jump cues. Nobody’s bothering to learn rail shots anymore. And jumping is there to stay. Or a whole industry would lose a good chunk of their business.

Any more people with a billiards problem around here?

A misspent youth spent in a poolhall room… I wouldn’t change it for the world. I haven’t played competitively in years, but still enjoy taking down the local pool table bully whenever I get a chance.:metal:

Ran 2 tables tonight, and missed the 8 or the 9 in a couple of games. But I’m going to replace the tip on my cue. Always played Le Pro tips, but you have to get lucky to get a really good one. Now i wish i had a bit more grip. But now you can spend €25 on a bloody cue tip and there are more different ones than strawberry recipes, very hard to choose one.
