I know the Nautilus is old news but my wife refuses to give hers up. I bought her an evic mini for xmas and saw that the new Triton Mini coil heads (kanthal, clapton and Nickel) will work on the Nauti. Has anyone tried or heard how well these work? I see that evape.us has them for about 10.00 for 5 so the price is about the same as the tradition heads. Just wondering if it would be worth picking some up or staying with the regular heads.
I would go to a local vape shop and buy 1 of the TC heads and try it out. My gut instinct is the limited air flow of the Nautilus will make it a ho hum experience but I could be wrong.
I was thinking the same thing as far as airflow. Been trying to find a good RTA that doesn’t utilize a glass tank (she has a gift for knocking things over/dropping) to upgrade her vape experience.
I think this would be nice. I used to LOVE my Orchid. I had a Orchid v2 but had the Kayfun glass kit with it. This uses an acrylic tank. Get her in to building!
I was thinking of that one a few days ago. The tank is too small. I was actually thinking of an ego one mega. I believe it’s 4ml and comes with an rba head. Steel tank is a must. The wife really is a klutz and rebuilding is a no go for her. Tiny fill hole screws won’t work either. She drops/loses everything. I would have to do it for her (don’t mind at all) but I’m not home all day long.
The stainless tank on the Nautilus was a godsend. She went through a few glass tanks before I found it.
PM me your address (if you’re in the US! ) and I’ll send you one. I have a black one that came with my eVic mini and I’ll include the little RBA and even put a 28ga Ti build in it for you, wicked and primed with VG. Deal?
Wow! Seriously? Thank you! PM on it’s way.
I tried the 1.8 ohm claptons in my Nautilus. Actually a improvement to the Nautilus I thought. Slightly better air flow and vapor. Not a subohm hit mind you, but, a definite improvement to a stock Nautilus. One warning though, they do not like going dry… I will never try nor have available for my customers, NICKEL coils. Aspire truly needs to get off their @ss and make Stainless Steel Coils. I would like to see them make these Triton Mini coils in more metals…
Never tried nickel wire but from what I’ve heard, I have to wonder why it’s so popular. Thanks for the feedback!
First thought would be because the first TC mods were for Ni200 only. The wire is readily available and cheap. And the mods out there that do only nickel are also cheap - for the most part. Combine that with a lack of education into other wires and it makes sense Ni200 would achieve popularity. I have a hunch the fine folks here are more educated into other options than the average vaper.
