Hi, Im a complete beginner to DIY liquids, Im wanting to create a 100ml shortfill of 12mg nicotine 50vg/50pg blend for MTL , Im trying to replicate a 10ml ejuice which is 12mg nicotine. How would i do this? Does anyone have any advice for me please. I also live in the UK so i can only use 10ml 18mg nicotine bottles

You need to add 0.7 (7 mils) of 18mg nic shot to 10 mils of short fill to make nic strength 12mg.
You end up with 17 mil of completed juice. (Very watered down).
I worked this out by typing “vaping short fill calculator” into the internet and using that.

Each whole 18mg nic shot added to 100 mil short fill will add 1.5mg of nicotine. So
Each whole 18mg nic shot added to 50 mil short fill will be 3mg of nicotine. So
If you get 50 mil of your short fill you need to add 4 whole nic shots to make it 12mg nicotine.

Ive recently bought a 50ml shortfill which is already flavoured & has a ratio of 50/50 , ive added 6 bottles of nicotine and it tastes very peppery due to the nicotine overpowering the ejuice. Would making my own juice have the same result or will it taste better

Looks ok for 100 mil of juice but it’s using 15mil flavour concentrate and not a short fill. Shortfalls are the flavour all ready diluted with a certain VG/Pg ratio. What you’re doing now is completely diluting any flavour in the short fill. You either need to reduce your nic levels down or
What I suggest you do is look online for 72mg nicotine. Nic salts. Nichub is a good place or “everything liquid”. Because it’s a lot stronger you only need a little to make your desired strength. It means you will have a lot more flavour from what you’re mixing it with.

If you buy “one shots” they are pure flavour (made from the flavour concentrates we use to make our recipes on this site) You mix around 15% then you add your own Pg and VG to required ratio and then add you own 72mg or 100mg nicotine. You use the calculator on elr and it tells you exactly how much of everything to add but then it helps if you use electric scales and do it by weight.
