Best fizzy flavour to add to recipes

Hi all as the title says whats the best fizzy flavour to add into a recipe, looking to add some actual fizziness to say fizzy cola bottle recipe or a lemonade

I think out of my flavour stash ive only got fizz pop (cap) and fizzy sherbet (vta)

Fizzy Sherbert is a great flavor but you probably don’t want the extra flavors in your cola. It should work for your lemonade, though. I’ve used Champagne (FA) for the psychological fizzy effect because it’s almost tasteless. Inawera has an offering that might work but I can’t remember the name at the moment. I think it’s similar to FA Champagne.

All that said there is no flavor that creates actual fizz. It’s sour molecules like in acetic acid, citrus acid, malic, tartaric and lactic acid and so on with other scientific explanations beyond my pay grade that give the “sensation” of fizz.

Welcome to the show @stickynigel Maybe some of the experts around here will chime in and give their best advice for you

I’d have to agree with Muth here. It’s all about the acid. Actually, carbonic acid is what’s responsible for the carbonation in sodas.

For fizziness, I personally use Fizz Pop (CAP) and a touch of Sour (TPA) or lemon. Fizz Pop (CAP) has malic acid (and possibly citric acid) and sweetener (sucralose and ethyl maltol) along with a couple of esters that are highly volatile which evaporate quickly upon heating, creating a sharp sensation.

If making a cola, I use Fizzy Cola (Molinberry) which is a tasty cola in itself. I don’t know the ingredients in that one but I assume it’s similar to Fizz Pop + cola.

IIRC INW Lemon kick has a good FiZZ to it but im not sure if its been discontinued or what not

FLV citrus soda and FLV energy drink sort of give a FIZZY sensation
might just be psychological as i expect these things to be FiZZy?

I occasionally add about 1/2 drop of Red Cinnamon (several variations to choose from) to fizzy recipes. The light “burning sensation” on your tongue works with the acidic qualities that others have already mentioned to fill out “fizzy”.
