Best RTA's for Temperature Control

After searching both here and all over the web for what Rebuildable Tank Atomizer works the best for vaping with Temperature Control I still have not a clue what tanks actually **suffer less **from connection issues.

Here is what I already know from my own experience. The original Lemo and the Kayfun 3.1 are the only 2 true RTA’s that I own.

I only have the 1 Kayfun 3.1 that I use when I want a mouth to lung vape and I have had no issues with it.

I have 6 original Lemo tanks and out of those only 2 (1 black & 1 SS) work with TC the same everyday and the other 4 suffer from connection issues of one sort or another.

I just purchased my second TC mod (evic VTC mini) and I already have the first IPV4. I will soon be looking for a third TC mod so now I want to look for better working tanks to go with my Temperature Control mods.

I like single coil setups not dual coil and I would rather have a slightly restricted airflow. For anyone familiar with the original Lemo tank the airflow wide open on that is just right for me when I want to Direct Lung Hit while the airflow wide open on the Kayfun 3.1 is just right for my Mouth To Lung hits.

Sounds to me that your needs for a RTA are much like my own. I am unable to do lung hits and require less air then most. The one tank which has a single coil RBA, airflow can be restricted enough for mouth to lung hits, easy top fill, and all around good quality tank, I suggest the Uwell Crown with RBA. I built mine with Ti and run it with the IPV4s in TC mode. From your description, I think this is your tank too…

What about the “ubertoot”? Look that one up, may be of use.
I use mtl for the am and after that I’m on the big guns, tfv4,billow v2, etc…

Both my Crown and Subtank Mini work well with my eVic mini. I have RBAs for both but haven’t used the crown rba yet. I’ve got titanium in the STM and it works great. The Crown has a stock dual .25 SS in it at the moment. So far, so good. If I had to pick one or the other, it’d be the Crown for sure. The build quality and top fill are fantastic.

Thank you all for the replies. I like the Lemo tanks I have but as I said 2 out of 6 tanks work with TC. I found them on sale 2 for the price of 1 at a local B&M vape shop before I started using TC. The problem seems to be between the 510 base section and the connection with the tanks bottom section. On my IPV4 I can leave either TC working base on the mod and screw a different tank on and no problem but put any of the other 4 base sections on and resistance jumps all over the scale. Currently using ni200 but I have Ti wire in the mail that should be here today or tomorrow. I will try that but I can not see the wire itself being the problem. I also have a couple velocity RDA’s and both work flawlessly every time. The tanks and the RDA’s all get the same builds single coil 26g ni200 8 wraps spaced on a 3mm bit.
I would be interested in what build you use and also if that build would allow you to do both MTL and DLH or would both styles require a different build to work best.
That’s interesting I am just the opposite wide open DLH in the AM MTL later in the day.

I think the ultimate goal for me anyway is to end up with 3 TC mods and 3 good tanks allowing me to marry the tanks to the mods permanently. My thoughts here are unless I change the build I could leave the resistance locked in remove the tank for filling and re-wicking and all should be good to go when I screw the tank back on the mod. Any thoughts on this idea?

24g Ti, 6 wrap single coil, 3mm ID. This got me around .2 ohm. Definite MTL but remember, I said I can not DLH. I have allowed others to hit on my vape and though I did not ask, it appeared they DLH on it and got quite nice vapor. I can not give you my own thoughts on that, sorry…

Been using a Cthulhu V2 a lot lately, really like this rta. Comes with 2 decks, a Kayfun style single coil and a velocity style dual coil. No connectivity issues on temp control, but it does have an adjustable 510 pin in the event that you have a problem.

I recently traded out my Ohmega for a Lemo 2. I don’t know if the original Lemo is this way, but the Lemo 2 I can tell you will have connection issues if the screw gets loos that holds down the positive portion of the build deck. I had this issue momentarily. Once I unscrewed the build deck from the base it was a simple tightening of the screw to get back to a solid connection.

You probably already know this and I’m admittedly just experiencing a Lemo RTA. In that case I hope you stopped reading 3 sentences ago  Good luck.

I use my Ubertoot v2 single coil TI and it works perfectly . It’s not a very airy tank but can pull off a restricted lung hit wide open but would be ideal MTL

I just picked up this one today I am hoping to close the gap… I can’t tolerate my crown sorry it’s just too much my fiancé now uses it. And I don’t like Lung hits so I’m going to try this 1.0 ohm coil out as well as the nickle coil. Hoping this will do the trick for me. Also bought a 1.5 ohm coil for my subtank still haven’t lost faith in it yet.

I felt I should probably update what I have found out that caused me to start this thread. My IPV4 mod was the issue causing the 4 Lemo tanks I have to not work for TC. As I stated here I had the evic VTC mini on the way and now that I have had some time to use it I can report that all 6 Lemo tanks are now working with TC coils. It was the mod causing the problems not the tanks as I originally thought.

After looking at a bunch of vids and picks of both the ubertoot and the crown I do think I am going to try the crown out to replace the kayfun 3.1 as my mouth to lung hit tank setup. I like to do both styles of vaping the direct lung hit and mouth to lung hit depending on my mood and rather my lungs are having a good day or a bad day.

@Amy2 Please do let us know how that works out for you.

The ego one mega is a solid tank I actually liked it right off the bat. I used the 1.0 CL coil I have yet to try the ni coil. However on the medium ( the battery has a few settings for vw) L,M,H and then there’s the ni and ti setting. Anyway on the med and high setting it was really good with flavor , vapor and the vapor was not hot nor cold. I really like this tank I had it slightly closed off I tried it wide open and it’s a bit too breezy for me but anyone looking for a decent MTL tank check this one out. There is a draw back at local B&M they only sell the kit so I was kinda stuck when I have plenty of batteries but oh well. The temp. Control is nice but who know how much I’d use it.

On the subtank note I rescued this tank tonight as well had. Double victory of sorts. I recall asking for higher ohm coils the last time I restocked and somehow ended up w/ 0.5’s again which is just too much for me. With the 1.5 ohm coils I get a nice MTL hit w/o too much heat it’s a lil warmer than the ego one but not too much. Anyways just wanted to let ya in on the lil success I had today. Now to get a ego one mini w/o the battery will be my next search.

If you’ve not gotten an Aromamizer RDTA I would recommend that as direct lung hit for TC. I loved my first so much I had to get a second. Aside from what I’ve heard on here about other tanks - the BIllow2, Crown, etc, I like it better than any I’ve tried or own. If I get another DNA200 then another Aromamizer will be bought at the same time. Better than TFV4? Absolutely.

I am going to hold off on this one for now and pick up a couple evic VTC mini’s for now. I do however want to replace my mouth to lung tank setup with something much easier to fill.

If you don’t mind building coils - Lemo 2!

Gave up on screw in coils a long time ago I like to many juices that Trash your coils.

I like the kayfun 3.1 I have as far as MTL but it sucks to fill
I like my Lemo tanks for what I consider DL which is really a very restricted airflow for most DL types
Here is what I have come to learn about the difference. A truly good MTL tank will have a narrower chimney than a good DL tank has and that is what seems to give a good MTL tank the ability to deliver good flavor.

I have never had the Lemo 2 in my hand to compare to the original Lemo but if I understand properly what I have learned about the main difference in them as far as only the build deck and chimney section is the Lemo2’s are bigger so I have kind of never considered it for MTL.

I could be totally off base with what I am thinking as I have only ever used the 2 brand name RTA;s I own now.

Since I don’t do MTL I had to try it before I posted. I put AFC nearly off. Was very restrictive (a little less than Kayfun Lite which I own) and i was able to MTL easily. That is for the Lemo2

What about the ubertoot? Just got mine today and I’m quite impressed for a mtl. Build what you want, I’ve got a kanthal 1.2 ohm coil 3.0mm ID and it’s working a treat.

You get loads of kit with it. 4tank configuration, even a magnetic block to build on. Loads of spares. Winner as recomended by @MixedUp1. ( thanks mate👍)

That’s pretty. Is it one you can DL hit too?
