CALIX V2 nano color edition by Leo

Ι felt like sharing with you my experience with another great Greek vaping product, the Calix V2 tank atomizer by Leo. Not a new atty, but a brand new version of a great atomizer: the version 2 nano color edition for single or dual coil with airflow and liquid control. Both for MTL and lung inhale.

Made from SS304L and plexi or SS tanks, with only 35mm height (45 with the drip tip) and 22mm diameter is almost 8mm shorter than the standard calix v2 and carries only 2ml of eliquid. Not a problem, cause it fills instantly and very easily.
For those who aren’t familiar with the calix:
Its parts are: the divided bottom part with the base and a separate deck. The deck itself can be divided in two parts, the negative and the positive pole. They can be disassembled for cleaning. The golden stick helps you align them to the right position. The deck unscrews easily from the base for wicking. 2 orings are responsible for keeping the base dry.

Focusing on the deck, one may find it strange. It forms a nest, with the screws at the outer side. Different but extremely efficient. The wire can be easily captured under the screws, keeping the coil at the center of the nest, almost 5mm over the airflow hole. The spaces between the poles lead the wire at the proper place. 4 screws for single or dual coils parallel to each other.

Both the wire and the cotton can be easily adjusted without worries for leaking or dry hits. Just cut the cotton from the outer side of the base and push it between the deck and the base. No need to cover all the space between the base and the nest(deck). You can either place the cotton behind the liquid holes or beside them.

The chimney covers completely the liquid holes, thus it works as a liquid control. No further rings at the bottom of the atty, no need for kerchiefs to rotate the ring, NO LEAKAGE. Any drip tip with two orings can rotate the chimney, sealing the liquid flow or controlling it. The chimney threads have a bit of rough sensation when assembling the chimney. It’s because the metal is too thin. After a while they become smooth too. However, even a brand new chimney, once it’s assembled, rotates smoothly with no need to force the drip tip.
Putting the cotton beside the holes gives the calix a more dripper character. Putting the cotton behind the holes just requires a bit more rotation of the chimney. Anyway, the sweet spot can be easily found.

Adjusting the air:
Although the screw is very smooth, it stills requires an allen (hexagon) tool, provided with the atty. Not the easiest thing when outside. The airflow can be adjusted for MTL or lung inhale. It’s not wide enough for serious cloud chasing. Moreover, calix v2 doesn’t need too many watts, nor can be wicked with very thick wires. One can alternate from MTL to L inhale with opening the air and the liquids but without increasing the watts.

The tank and the liquid filling.
Thanks to Leo, the tank have threads that are perfected, so you can assemble and disassemble the atty very easily. No pressure, no force needed. Just imagine it and it’s done! Top filling of course, removing the top cap without removing the drip tip. Even a blind vaper can fill the atty with any bottle. Also no need to turn the atty upside down while assembling the top cap. The chimney isn’t necessary to shut the liquid flow. That’s why it doesn’t bother me to fill over and over again.
You want to know the best part?
Calix V2 vapes like a charm! As a taste chaser, it has perfect taste, a very good throat hit and a quite good vape production. Big or thick clouds isn’t its strong suit. It’s vape is almost velvet but its taste and convenience are its weaponry to your heart.
After KL+ I couldn’t find an atty with the same simplicity and easy to use. Eviva and Phenomenon are great atties too, but lack the “forgiveness” Calix V2 offers to the beginners or the careless vapers. Calix V2 is a complete plug and play atty with superb taste. No more buts and ifs. I’m fed up with “wick very carefully because if you put slightly more cotton this and that” or “play the flute with your atty by cutting off the air and flow power with your fingers while filling” or don’t use this cotton and DO use more watts etc etc.
Calix V2 is convenient and reliable as the old KL+ and at the same time a high end atty with great performance. And don’t forget its small size and beauty. A fine combination, difficult to find.
You can surf its creator page http://www.byleo.eu/bl/el/60-calix-rba
There are many versions and accessories. Standard or nano version, SS tanks, plexi tanks clear or colored, many drip tips, nano kit and spares.
Its price is high end too. 115€ for the nano version, 119€ for the standard, with extra tanks starting at 9€. Surprisingly, its nano kit is very affordable at only 25€. Sorry, no good clone verified yet. Only V1 clones with bottom air feed. The V2 has the improved air feed from the side, making the atty liquidproof. For those who may have the calix v1, the parts between the 2 versions are compatible.

Well, this isn’t an advertising review. I paid for the atty and I’m not one of Leo’s friends. (not an enemy either) I had previously owned Leo’s Sophia and The Dripper but don’t rate them as high end products. I passed by calix for 2 years, because Leo doesn’t donate for reviews as much as others, doesn’t socialize or make public relations, doesn’t advertize. Moreover, calix’s setups aren’t suitable for fancy photos that magnetize likes and views. There were some happy calix owners that have fallen at a vape nirvana and their happy faces made me notice the atty. When Leo added the colorful nano version at his eshop I almost saw my name written on it. 1 week after I first wicked it, I feel no remorse for 115€ well spent.
Since this is an eliquid targeted forum with members that appreciate taste, this atty may give a happy smile to your face.
I loved this forum from day 1. It makes me feel that I’m inside a big dining room among a huge family. I’m truly sorry that my demanding job prevents me from spending more of my time here. I feel obliged to “repay” your warmness by sharing with you experience that might be helpful. Translating in a language that is not my native isn’t the easiest thing for me to do, but it’s worth every … word!
