Sorry if this is the wrong catagory but Im trying to source some cotton a bit cheaper than buying the doc cotton coil and cotton bags I think the brand is diamond mist. I keep hearing of muji and koh gen do so ordered some koh gen do to try and it was oos and I was sent the muji instead. The thing is its very different to the cotton in the doc cotton packs. Where would I get the cleaner stuff that doc cotton uses without the coils and price hike? Is it a specific type or something?

Grab some cotton bacon or v2 from.coil clout…FYI just because ones whiter doesnt nean its better try the other and see how it is . Im a CB Fan still. There is 13ft on amazon but the hype wasnt worh chamging for me

MUJI (and 13feets) is unbleached so its apparently completely natural, hence the darker colour. I also didn’t get the hype from either of those brands. Muji was very expensive here and 13 feets had a weird flavour.

Sorry can’t help there @Dios I’ve never used Muji cotton, I’ve always used unrolled organic cotton balls from Whole Foods. It’s like 3.99 per 200 balls and I can get 7 wicks from each ball.

@newtoDIY I’ll have to see if my supplier has any KGD in stock. It’s all I use. Best/worse, can’t say, but it’s consistent, and I burn through a lot of cotton testing. I’ll see what i can find if you want to pick some up.

As The Steam Crave Guy, have you used their cotton? I’ve had Firebolt and KGB for about $20aud (both reasonable quality if not price), Muji and 13feet (overhyped imo, especially for the price here), and 2 tins of AliEx KungFu cotton (cost me a tenner roughly, shipped) which was definitely worth $10… not bad but not spectacular by any means…
Their prices shipped here are stupid cheap, cause they dont charge me in AUD only NZD (like 2.30 plus shipping) so I could get 10 packs of their shoelace for about $30 dollaroos. Or 10 packs of AliEx Cotton Bacon for about $20

Actually @Dios SteamCrave did send me some cotton for a unit I was reviewing. Shoelaced, worked fine, no issues.

I use organic cotton cuts used for facial apps found on Amazon. These work great on the SteamCrave rebuildables. I removed the thin outside layers and cut to the width I like. One bag lasts for years with just vaping two SteamCraves.

Dual coils. These are probably not thick enough for mesh, unless doubled over, but I don’t do mesh, so it’s just a guess on my part. Works great for most any coil size, though.

Ive read a lot of recomendations on the koh gen do, so far ive got the doc cotton range and also muji and labo puff, i cant seem to track down any koh gen do or shiseido ones for a reasonable price. Out of all of them the labo organic unbleached puffs are closest to the doc cotton ones so far, very few seed husks and quite light in colour. Ive yet to try them all out but will make a new post comparing them once i have.
