Mulan has been missing since Tuesday, September 30, 2025. It’s now been over a week since that horrible day. My wife and I have gone back to her last seen spot nearly everyday, but no luck.

We’ve subscribed to every known missing pet list, but still no luck. We’ve even canvassed the surrounding neighborhoods, to no avail.

That park is over a thousand-acres, and there’s no way just the two of us can find her without professional assistance. But PetBoost has warned us about people and groups who prey on desperate pet parents for money.

Though it hurts me to say this, I’ll have to get myself ready for the possibility that Mulan will never be seen again.

Poor little Eowyn, her sister, is beside herself with loneliness, but she’s slowly coming to grips. My wife and I just make sure we’re there for her when she gets clingy.

I’m looking into the possibility of electronic pet trackers as well.

I’m still holding out hope that we’ll be reunited with Mulan, but that hope is getting smaller with each passing day. :crying_cat_face:

:arrow_up:Mulan’s last pic taken just a few days before her disappearance.

:arrow_up:Mulan’s sister, Eowyn. As you can see, she loves her pet stroller.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Mulan’s been found, and she’s been home since 11/5/25! It seems that when Mulan ran into the woods around the park, she crossed the stream and into some neighboring homes where she scrounged for food and scratching to survive.

One day, probably about 11/1-11/2, she ran into someone’s open garage and refused to budge, so the homeowner called a rescue group where Mulan was placed with a temporary foster on 11/4.

This kind foster then posted several of her pics with a short note on a missing pets FB page. A close friend, who had been monitoring things, recognized Mulan’s pic and immediately called me.

I then got in touch with the foster, and after proper verification, reunited Mulan with us. She was a bit worse for wear, having been in a scrap or two, and lost some weight, but looked surprisingly well, all things considered.

From the moment I picked her up she was chatting up a storm, no doubt regaling me with her ‘tails’ of stupendous courage in the face if impossible odds.

Eowyn’s glad to have her sister back, and the two have just completed a ten-minute long game of tag.

It’s so good to have Mulan back home!

Above two pics are of Mulan at the foster’s home.

Mulan at home, fresh from her flea bath, and snoozing on her favorite mattress….my lap.

Mulan the following day, sleeping in her covered pet bed.

Here she is laying on her Cattasaurus, AKA, “The Donut”.

Welcome back again, Mulan!

@HawaiianVaporTraiz we have been through EXACTLY that same situation, and I feel for you guys. Our cats are family, so it’s never NOT a big deal, and you ARE right about being careful for people preying on people who have lost their family members.

I hope she shows up soon, and with some good stories to tell.

After having a cat for 15 years, I told myself: Never again, Satan. But how can I deny this little critter at least a fighting chance? So, time to break out the formula & heating pad and hope I can find a foster before being driven catt… I mean batty

Update: Found a certified cat lady to take over :sunglasses:

Aw, thx for helping this little one have a chance. I know what you mean. After Nikko passed I swore off any more critters. Now I have a pet squirrel who wants to come in the house. I have to draw the line somewhere. She gets plenty of peanuts outside on her rock platter. The way I know it’s her is when I go outside all the squirrels run away from me, she runs to me

My heart goes out to you. My guy was a stray that we took in and he insisted on being out a lot. We would do our best to keep an eye on him but I would be besides myself when it fell dark at night, walking up and down the streets with a flashlight calling out his name. I didn’t care if I looked like a nut job. Was Mulan street/outside savvy? I’ve heard of people giving up hope and then miraculously their kitty showed up. Nikko disappeared for 2 weeks once and I thought he decided that house life wasn’t for him and ditched me, lol. He finally came home. You never know and I hope for the best for you and Mulan.

One of the feral cats I feed will march right through the door if I as much as turn my head for a second. That’s not the problem; the problem is that he’ll make a beeline to the couch and start scratching :joy_cat:

Sounds to me like he’s giving you a hint  Funny thing about Nikko, he never destroyed the furniture nor would he poop in the box. All that activity he preferred outside.
(dayum, I miss him)
