please forgive the crappy pic (flip phone). here is the belly of a 22 lb manx. the stripes mostly have appeared over this past year. could be he is younger than we thought and these are his adult colors . i wish i could measure his length but he is terrified of the yardstick or tape measure.

he is not into coming at him with anything. i don’t know what type of interactions he has had with humans but we are being as positive as we can.he is a scaredy cat…which is funny because he can push me off a chair with his nose. strongest cat i have ever known. he is all muscle and pretty darn fast. runs up and down trees in the blink of an eye. which is something i have never seen a cat do (running face down a tree) and looks just like a bulldog when he stretches from the neck down.
he is one heck of a warm spot in the winter when he shares the bed at night.
even though i could use it, i wouldn’t take 5K for him.

Rescued three black/white kittens, guessing approx. 10 weeks old. Thinking our neighbor threw them over our fence, knowing we are cat folks [he worked at golf course, his boss HATES cats, most likely attempted to poison them].
Brought them in the house - Biffie-Dondo-Spot . Biffie died within a week from convulsions , Dondo lived very happily for 4 years , and Spot … !!! Spot got along fine with his siblings and our couple other cats but we could never, never get near him , absolutely no touching , for NINE AND A HALF YEARS !!! Then, like flipping a switch, Spot jumped on my lap and could not get enough sugars from me, enough brushing, etc. He lived another couple of months and passed during the night.
Note: Once we bring in a rescue they are never allowed back outside.

When my brother went on isolated duty in the Coast Guard, he gave us his red hair Doxy.
Sitting on the couch one day, I fired up some giggle cabbage and the dog, (Duke) jumped up on the back of the couch, crawled onto my shoulder and when I exhaled Duke licked up some fumes.
Like to shit my pants I laughed so hard! GO big brother!
Guess I’m not the only one he introduced to that world.

Due to a fall down some stairs leading to a broken nose and what-not I was in the hospital 'cuz I’m on blood thinners and of course I couldn’t stop the nose bleed. Or the split between my eyebrows. Or the hole in my upper lip from my upper teeth.
Whilst in the hospital I had a small mini stroke. I have a non valve AFib and was off my blood thinners, and the doc said that’s not surprising given my age and health and the shock of hearing my head bounce off a concrete surface.
They installed a watchman so I’d not be on blood thinners any longer. 1 hour simple procedure. Non invasive. They make you get up and walk around as soon as they’re done. I went outside to do some vaping and the doc was like, “NOW, I’ve seen it all!”

5 months in since surgery. i actually feel a little better than i did before starting to get sick last November. i’m a little behind on the walking and exercise because of the heat. i’m not supposed to be outside if it is above 80 degrees . so i would technically have a 2 hour window between 4-6 am to get out and enjoy nature. hopefully the next cold front will signal my favorite time of the year is finally approaching.
i am still on blood thinners because i can’t afford the incidental charges associated with the procedure that would confirm everything is as it should be inside my heart, otherwise every blood test i have had indicates i am in remarkable condition for a man at 40 yrs (i am 67) so i guess i am in better shape than i thought. hopefully i’ll be able to get out and move around soon and really get this chapter over to move on to the next one.

80 degrees? Just checked. Should get down to 81 around 11:00 pm. High of 103 today. 1:00 pm. It’s currently 99.

80 degrees was a guideline the surgery team gave me. i found out rather quickly it was not a joke after i walked to the mailbox and wondered if i was gonna make it back inside earlier this year. now i have improved to where i think i may build back most of my stamina doing yard work this fall. the timing of the whole situation is inconvenient but i am thinking losing a year to gain the foreseeable future might be a good trade. <*}}}>{

Sounds like a sound plan, Stan! 80’s are common from November through April or even May, but June through September can be brutal!
Was supposed to his 103 today, but it only hit 107.
But it’s a dry, heat! As Walter Dunham once said, "So is a bon fire, but you don’t see me sticking my ass in it!
