@INOIROC I figured this would be a decent place to contact you besides a PM. My Hellvape Destiny AF ring is spinning like it lost its stops or something. Almost impossible to get the deck screwed off. Do you know any fixes or what may have happened? Thx
Thats a bottom airflow RTA right?
Can you not get a coil jig or something similar inside the airflow & out the other end & use it as leverage?
Yes. It occurred to me to try and run a coil rod through the af. Since Inoiroc is very familiar with this RTA I was hoping she might know what happened to it. My others are fine but this one Iāve been using daily ever since I got it. Glad I have more than one because I like this little single coil RTA. I canāt for the life of me figure out how the stops could stop working. Do you think they just wore down?
Bottom air for the win. Most top air atties disappoint me. Besides, the only time leaking on a bottom air has been a problem is when I let the atty sit for too long without use.
Anyone have a suggestion for a good wickless coil? Looking for a quick flavor taster so I donāt have to keep changing out wicks. Twisted Messes made one a long time ago but coil building has advanced a lot since then.
I would imagine those little metal tabs/groves things (stoppers) have just worn down over time to a point they no longer catch? Without seeing inside though its only speculation?
As for easy quick flavour testers, i just use my everyday single coil RDA but when testing i dont fully wick it, i only pull the cotton through then snip it off so just a little bit sticks out either end of the coil, i dont tuck the wick or even leave enough to tuck, so i can just drip straight onto the coil, because youāre only testing you dont have to worry about wicking/efficiency/capillary etc, i usually can test a few flavours on 1 wick, unless its one that sticks in the wick & overpowers everything then ill just pull the little piece of cotton out & throw a fresh in.

Thx, Iāve used that little trick myself but didnāt try testing more than one flavor on the same wick. With a wickless you can just do a quick dry burn but you really need a coil with a lot of nooks and crannies to hold the juice. Way back in the day some people used ss mesh for wicks but it has to be properly prepared before running it through a coil. You know, the lighter or blow torch then dipping it in water prep. I should just stop talking about it and do it, lol. I get the lazies sometimes.
Thatās the thing. Thereās no lip or anything on the bottom of the deck so it looks like the AF ring could slide down and off but Iāll be damned if I canāt get it off. Iām stubborn when it comes to fixing things. I have to know what makes things tick. I might have to break it to fix it, ha!
