I’m thinking that I might see what happens with a few strands twisted into tidal wire too.
Ultimately though with 38g I was thinking like you with the fused claps.
I really want to try and get some 28g 317L as the 25g I’ve got is great for low ohm building.
Ive already almost spent my vape budget between 118ml of CAPv1, 72mg NIC, flavours, 5x 100ml Amber dropper bottles and wire.
So my TC mod might have to wait.
Besides the place I was going to purchase from have sold out on the IPV4.
So I might order myself an RTA for use on my mech in the meantime.
Thinking about this an entry level RTA

Very nice!
I’ve pulled the trigger on the RTA.
I’m in Southern California USA. Not the nice part with the ocean, the hot part with all the sand and cacti (gonna be 115 F this weekend…blah). I appreciate the thought, but I don’t know how big of a PITA it would be to send them across the pond.
Maybe you could ask @NewDrip if/when he has another graveyard giveaway.
I’ve also seen UD Clapton wire for sale.
So that could be your way into a Clapton build.

Yeah I saw that UD is selling the stuff. I was actually able to get a few clapton wires made before the steadiness of the hand went out. I can do about enough to make a couple of coils before the hand gets too shaky.
Where there’s a will, there’s way, right?
With the Clapton tool that @NewDrip posted using pipettes etc you don’t require a steady hand.
You just need to stop the spool tool from rotating around the wire.
The weight of the tool pretty much keeps it in perfect position.

That’s nice @jondamon, Ive been living life below .1 ohms lately. It’s real nice out here in the deep water. Super subbing is off the charts. You won’t believe the flavor. It’s like I got all new gear. My shits been reborn.

Thank you very much.
Do you like how my ribbon wire lines up across the coil??
Well I’ve been toying with the idea of a parallel 18650 mech box like an Osmium clone with something like HE2 or HE4’s from LG to be able to get below .1ohm.
I’m very jealous of your super sub lifestyle lol.
What hardware are you using for super sub?
Mech or Regulated?

The IPV4 and the Evic VT 60w both get low. The IPV4 has more watts tho. There are some others that will get low too. My Vapor Flask v2 also but it’s only 40w. I’m afraid to get that low with an unregulated mod… I don’t have much experience with them.

Thought the IPV4 was only down to .1ohm???
I’m still liking the look of the snow wolf 200w but I bet that glass front and back won’t with stand much abuse lol.

My issue with unregulated mods are that if you build low you have to use the wattage that’s delivered though ohms law.
Where as with regulated you could build for eg a .15 but only supply it 50w and not the 100w that’s being pushed through it with a mech.

In TC mode I can go below .1. I’ve been converting everything over to Tio2, Ni200 and SS. I’m done with Kanthal.

Very nice.
Are they spaced claps fused with a strand of the wire?
Very nice.

I’m working on getting the spacing right… but that’s the idea. The Low ohm single wire should fire first and give it a staged heating effect.

When you make wires like this are you wearing any special eye wear?
Such as any form of magnifier like jewellers wear?
I don’t wear glasses but find I’m struggling trying to space fused wraps where I want them etc.
On another note my first bulk order to TPA
It’s only a small order for my first as I want it to get here before spending more money.

So I was up quite late last night watching some of TWISTED MESSES vids on YT.
Here’s my first attempt at Clapton helix wire.
This is using around 12" of 26/36 Clapton wire that’s twisted on itself to about 6" in length.
Then I tried to make some 32/36 Clapton wire and I managed it but it was spaced rather than tightly wrapped.
This 32/36 Clapton was then wrapped around the twisted Clapton in the twist gaps.
It took 2 pieces to fill the entire spaces.
Then once it’s complete the whole wire is twisted tighter to complete the wire.
Here’s some pics.
What do you think everyone?

I like that wire. I must try that CMJ. You should also try a reversed twist Helixed Clapton… It will make your Clapton wraps open up.
This is two I did last night.
