Coil Building show offs!

Yeah, I’ve seen the video and just need the right setup now. I picked up the clapton jig for $18 on sale a while back and thought I’d give it a try. All the videos didn’t show the trouble I am having but I do think it is due to the heavier spool and not having it anchored on one end.

cool. I’m sure it will get worked out :ok_hand:

Have you watched the video by m.terk on pristinebuilds channel on YouTube? Watch his video on doing claptons with high gauge wire…his technique holds the spool 12-14 inches away at 90° angle and it basically wraps itself! Highly recommend the video, brother!!

awesome…thanks brother. I will look it up when I get back home shortly.

holy shit! That thing is massive. Could probably cook a pot pie while waiting for this thing to ramp up.

started to watch it and realized I had seen this a while back lol…deja vu.

You need to put that bad mofo in a Temple RDA

And you’re not using his method? It really makes claptons much easier…
On that note, I finally broke down and bought a clapton jig. If I can make time today or tomorrow, I’ll be giving it a try

I thought about putting it in my Tsunami RDA. With all those juice channels I wouldn’t need any wick. :grinning:

nope lol…I actually like doing it by touch and feel next to the core wire…weird I know :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: plus not much room where I am building to clamp down and have a nice long core with the swivels. I do have all the swivels and clamps etc for when I get a bigger space.

Just a quick mention: I tried cheap swivels at first and it kept bunching up on me. Core would constantly twist on me. Then I invested in some really nice swivels and they made a HUGE difference. Aussie swivels. Just my 2 cents

worth more than that brother. Thanks. I picked up some nice ones a while back and tested a couple to see if they would bind…they ran smooth.

My first ever clapton. 26g Kanthal, wrapped in 30g NiChrome80, 2mm ID managed to fit it into my kanger rba for my Nebox. 0.44ohm loads of flavor at about 30watts.
