Coronavirus

yep @jinx_d and @SmilingOgre . the shadows where a b*tch. The trees in the foreground are inserts. They weren’t there originally. The focus is actually an issue with pollen in the air. It causes a haze during periods of the year. I took some rust of the railings and some other odds and ends like taking some roads out. The tree shadows are complete fabrications. I was trying to line everything up and the nuts and bolts shadows got to complicated to remove. The trees hide a town. It stuck out like a sore thumb so I had to remove it. The trees seemed the most sensible. The railings are whitened to brighten the close up areas.

Affinity Photo’s almost as good as Photoshop. It does certain things better but I’m so used to constructing in Photoshop. Affinity’s $29 and you own it then and Photoshop’s $10 a month. I may stop using Photoshop however because all the new features aren’t needed.

COVID twice for me and my son wasn’t so bad. 3 days of pure hell then it left as fast as it came in. All I know is I can spend a whole day on a picture and not feel trapped, lonely, or depressed. My state’s mostly open but the places I want to go like the state parks aren’t. I’m going to miss that if they don’t open up this summer.

I’d post more pictures but none of them are done lol. I’m waiting for the perfect piece and clipart isn’t free.

It’s great that you found something you like that much. A full day on a photo is a long time to stay engaged. I couldn’t have done any better with the shadows. That was a tough one for sure. Please do keep posting as you feel like it. Love to see good photography work. I joined this forum just for inspiration: New & Followed Posts in photography-on-the.net Digital Photography Forums

Looking forward to seeing more!!!

While not a huge fan of Joseph Mercola per se, he does put out enlightening health information from time to time and I did find this article (very) interesting and revealing. Pretty sure I knew all this anyway but always good to be reminded.

Quite interesting @Mikser

Signs that a relatively high number of healthcare workers are unwilling to receive the coronavirus vaccine in some parts of Europe and the US have alarmed politicians and health experts, as countries struggle to contain a surge in infections and carry out mass vaccination.

A poll released in mid-December caused surprise in Germany – the country that has been at the forefront of the race for a vaccine with biotech company BioNTech – by showing that half of surveyed nurses did not want to be vaccinated, along with a quarter of doctors.

Interesting indeed. This bit too.

“The maniacal suppression and censorship of any inexpensive natural alternative for COVID-19 makes perfect sense now.”

What they didn’t mention is that a vaccine can only be fast-tracked without proper testing, like they’ve done with this one, if no other alternatives are available.
The same goes for mandatory vaccinations, only allowed when there’s no other alternative.

@Josephine_van_Rijn, @Mikser, is it just me, or is this more of a “thing” than I thought it was ?

riding around in their Priuses with face diapers wrapped around their talk-holes…

oh, its REAL! there are people that LOVE the pandemic. and not just the ones profiting from it. and the mask freaks. i saw my neighbor mowing her grass in a mask, i wonder if she showered and slept in one, she lives alone. and then the ones that drive around by themselves with masks on. Sheep

It might not occur to you, because you are not a bizarre wierdo, but a lot of people really love the pandemic. Not just the little fascist gnome who changes his #science advice more often than a Wellesley girl changes her preferences during her sophomore year experimental phase, and not just the fascist pols who get off on exploiting their emergency powers to boss people around, but even some regular people. The masks, the paranoia, the constant talk about vaccines – some people love this stuff.

This is their Woodstock.

And they never want it to end.

Why would anyone enjoy this idiocy? Limits on your freedom, hectoring pests, nitwits riding around in their Priuses with face diapers wrapped around their talk-holes… it’s an abomination. Yet there’s this slice of the populace that gets into it. They resist a return to normalcy because their normal lives were not that great to begin with and this is the most exciting thing that will ever happen to them.

That’s it in a nutshell.
Don’t forget the importance they all of a sudden have.
If you’ve just singlehandedly saved half the world population by sticking a dirty piece of cloth on your face, you must be really something.
There was a woman who was going to get her blood tested for antibodies, cause that way she could help medical science with their battle against this very dangerous virus.

Then you have those people who are extremely proud because they have been tested.
Chest forward and so pleased with themselves.
It’s just making me

Very interesting @Mikser, I had only heard of (over here) the pausing of the J&J formulation, but was unaware of the AZ pause.

Knowledge is power.

And these people are in charge? Seriously? 50,000 expected at the game Saturday afternoon (not social distancing) and the South Australian Chief Public Health Officer tells them this? God help us!

Wow @Mikser

A short video was recently brought to our attention on twitter. It shows a man and woman (off-camera) pulling up to a chainlink fence around a concrete yard and engaging in a brief conversation with a man on the other side.

The man is one of several dozen people walking in slow, counter-clockwise circuits around what appears to be an un-used car park. He’s polite to the strangers, discussing how tight security is, how many guards there are on each floor, and how often they’re allowed outside for this “exercise”.
