Then we differ. I won’t go into all.
Just having The Budget in one ear may explain all.

Been MIA for quite some time dealing with life’s shit, namely the “no jab no job” mandates brought in by the Western Aust State Gooberment. I thought I might be classified as Group 3 which would’ve meant I could get away with not being vaxxed but according to company management it turns out I fall into Group 2 which means I need to get jabbed or resign.

Dealing with that has been just a tad stressful and it’s taken up a huge chunk of my free time looking into the ins and outs of it all. I do have an “ace up my sleeve” however but can’t say too much at the moment. I’ll either be successful with that or I’ll end up “retiring early”. No train smash if it’s the latter as I’ll be able to “survive” until I become an OAP. I won’t complain or play the blame game as there are plenty of people worse off than me.

I thought I might just leave you with this. Riccardo Bosi is the leader of the Australia One Party and he’s catching up with John Wilson who is the former President of the Trades Hall Council and a long standing union boss from back in the day.

OK, I really need to skedaddle and catch up with all the posts I’ve missed while I’ve been away. Peace :peace_symbol: :dove:

I’ve somewhat reluctantly had my jabs. Initially I wasn’t but as time progressed I guessed this time would come and as I still have a decade or more to work my wife and I were injected at the same time.
It’s a little harder for us here in the west to grasp the perceived necessity as we haven’t suffered anything like over east or other parts of the world. I did feel somewhat pressured but ultimately I made my choice for more than one reason.
Truth is I still don’t completely trust the drug but it’s too late for that now in my case.

However what I haven’t and will not do is download the Safe WA app as I simply don’t trust the government to not let my personal details be hacked.
I have no problem signing in wherever I go and when the time comes to prove my vaccination status I will carry around a piece of paper.

I believe that the latter part of next month and the early part of next year is going to see some real problems with all of this.
As we all understand now Covid-19 is going to get into WA eventually and with the state of our hospital system that fact alone is going to be a disaster.

@dardy, very sorry to hear that mate, my wife is going through the exact same thing right now. After her first shot, she started having issues, and now after ($1,000.00) in copays, and a plethora of tests, everyone involved seems to have “no clue” why she was having the issues she was or “what” caused it. It’s a shit show, and no one (over here) seems to want to own up, and state what’s what, or what’s increasingly becoming clear.

Checking your BC links now…

@Gazza7 sorry to hear you were pressured into it, but respect that you made YOUR choice. Respect.

Whatever decision you make regarding the vax is the right one @Gazza7. That statement may sound a bit strange coming from someone (me) who will NEVER (willingly) take this jab but at the end of the day it’s your decision and yours alone. I and everyone else, have no right to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do with your body. While I may not agree with what people do, I respect that it’s their decision. And that my friend is what separates me from the fanatics.

A lot of friends and family find it hard to understand that I’m not the atypical raving lunatic shouting from the rooftops. Interestingly enough, it makes them think and as we all (should) know, thinking is good.

Yeah, I’ve never trusted the SafeWA app either. I downloaded it because I thought it would make life easier but after thinking about the security and privacy issues, I got rid of it. Like you I will sign in because I have to and because I hope those bits of paper will actually get shredded after 30 days as they promise.

Ha-ha! That’s just reminded me of what a mate of mine does. He looked in the classifieds for a male escort (gay) and memorised the mobile (cell) number and just signs in with those details. He thinks it’ll be funny if there is an outbreak and the contact tracers ring this certain number and ask if Quentin (not his real name) is there and the effeminate voice on the other end answers “yes, this is Quentin, how can I help you?”. I cannot condone doing such a thing obviously.

This exactly. Sit back and watch the SHTF mate. Stay healthy and pray you don’t get crook.

Anyway @Gazza7 and @SessionDrummer, you take care and best of luck with everything. Fingers crossed it all works out for the both of you. Stay strong :muscle:.

You too @Dardy right back at you.

One thing I will never understand is how McGowan has no problem letting celebrities or sports stars into WA but average Joe with a genuine need is extremely lucky to be able to enter.
Reeks of hypocrisy and I don’t care how much political spin he or Cook put on that fact. We’ve been extremely lucky in WA which I believe is due to the most part because of our geographical position and they’ve had ample time to prepare for the likely fact of our hospital system will fail us.

If a much needed medical professional is happy to come here they should be encouraged but even then that doesn’t negate the fact that we don’t have enough ECU beds to cope with an outbreak.

I have a work colleague whose daughter recently qualified as a nurse. I find it absolutely disgusting that even though she’s only just qualified and understandably a little green she is left completely to her own devices and expected to work extremely long days as a matter of course. My mum was a nurse and I can easily remember how hard she worked and the toll it took on her. I also understand that a medical profession is one of dedication and vocation as well as a means of paying the bills so these good people should be looked after. She is also only given ONE uniform a week which she has to bring home and wash herself at the end of her shifts.

Personally I’ve given them the benefits of various doubts to a point but think they’re crapping themselves now.
