IMO just because a dog tested positive with a flora of Covid19 does not equate to being adversely effected or dying.
I made my above post into a blog post on my disused blog:
I think “jumped to” may be an inaccurate description. The virus can be inhaled by anything that breathes. “jumped to” infers negative impact from it’s presence.
Deleting comment was incorrectly inserted here.
" The 17-year-old Pomeranian" Really, posting this is ridiculous tying it to the virus by context.
I get that. What I’m saying is that while a trace may have been detected the flora may not flourish the way it does in bats and humans. It may not sicken the dog and the dog may not shed the virus.
Email from my veterinarian:
" At this time, our hospital remains open and is operating under regular business hours.
While the CDC and other health authorities have indicated that dogs, cats, and other domestic animals are not considered at risk for contracting COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of humans within our facility- notably our clients and staff.
If you are feeling ill or experiencing flu-like symptoms, or someone in your household is ill, or have recently traveled outside of the US, we kindly ask that you call to reschedule.
If you are healthy with no signs of illness and have a scheduled appointment, please bring your pet to the hospital. We ask that you remain outside or in your vehicle and call the hospital to let us know you are here. A team member will be with you shortly to put you and your pet directly into an exam room. Please remember to practice social distance while waiting.
For pet medication and food pick-up , please call 24 hours in advance to we can prepare your request. When you come to the office to pick up your supplies, please call us, and we will bring your items to the car. "
Ur restrictions sounds like ours in Denmark 1 week ago.
Now the picture is totally different.
- No visitors on hospitals or elders facility.
- The limits for groups of people outside is 10 (1000
before) And we
have to be 2 meters away from each other. - Indoor it’s a limit of 10 people to (1000 before) . But
parties, concert,
everything nearly is locked down and is illegal now. - No traveling is allowed at all (in and out the country).
The borders now closed to. - Communion for the 15 years old in church, such a big
day for the young people, the entrance (beginning) to
the adult life is canceled and will be hold after the crisis.
So i think, sorry to say, the picture in Australia in a few days will be totally different
.
The article I posted was in reaction to Mikser’s post, distancing the death of the dog from Corona and tying it to old-age… I don’t like all these ridiculous stories either.
All the science points to that. I abhor stories like that, you never know what the dumb might end up doing with misinformation like that.
Anybody coming anywhere near my dog with bad intentions doesn’t have to worry about contracting corona
