This is the study where they put an Ce4 tank for an Ego battery on a voltage of more than 5 and stuck it on a robot who vaped on it and since those tanks are for the Ego style batteries that have no more than 3.7 volts running through them, basically the inside of the tank started to melt and chemicals where detected, duh. Robots have no lungs and no taste. 1 dry hit is enough to make you adjust the voltage on your tank. As the article says, they tested it with ‘normal’ voltage for these tanks and no dangerous gasses were detected. They also make the assumption that when you vape at a higher voltage this will always happen, untrue because the newer tanks have bigger diameter coils, thicker wire and are specifically made for higher voltage and subohm.
This whole research was bogus and they have admitted as much. That just didn’t make the papers or if it did it was somewhere in the back with small print.
So what else can I say?

THIS!!

And it was nearly reported in the media secretly. The parts where the ecig used unsafe voltage, voltage where no one would vape, was not aired on TV where it would actually do some good for the public. Instead to cover their asses they reported the full story online where a fraction of the public would see it…

And this my friend is why it is so hard to combat the bullshit…

Yea, they conducted a study, released “their findings” and without having any experience in an activity they made presumptuous errors, and then proceeded to act on them as fact. Not to mention they failed at adding any human practicality (spelled “common sense”) into their so called scientific study. You know, the kind of sense that tells us that fire burns, and that it is a bad idea to leap into a bon fire.

This demonstrates to us several things. 1. That scientists aren’t always smart. and 2. The media thrives on what sells.
I think the biggest shame in all of this, is they probably have good intentions and that they unknowingly cause more harm than good.

Idiots all of them.

Amen to that!

What is this “common sense” you speak of? I’ve heard of this existing in the olden days, but not seen it first hand.

I think it took the extinction path of the Do Do bird. It is in short short supply. Look at Washington D.C…
