Yes, I’ve done that. @UrsusArctis you can also change the o-rings to a slightly smaller size. Another technique I used was finding something thin enough to fit under the top cap and start prying it up all around from the bottom.
I stopped putting anything in my ultrasonic cleaner with the o-rings still attached. I found that they swelled from the UC action.
