Trying to pull this thing open and it won’t come apart…is it something I did?
Can’t pull the top part off to get to the deck… any way to get it unstuck? won’t really want to use pliers…

Morning @UrsusArctis. I’ve had the same issue. I’d soak it in soapy water and gently try and twist it apart.
If you must use pliers l, use a thing towel to prevent any teeth marks. Keep me posted.

Thanks @D.Sims ! It’s really frustrating and taking all of my might not to throw it against the wall LOL. Tried running it under hot water already, but will try to leave it soaking for a bit. Worse comes to worse will come the pliers with the towel. Will let you know. Thanks m8!!!

@D.Sims finally got it apart. Had to use pliers and got slight teeth marks but it still worked. Can hardly tell as per picture. Jeez, what annoyance lol. Thanks for your help!

Yup, she’s squeaky clean. Was goong to oil it then thought against it because of the heat.

Rub a drop or two of Vg on the o rings it keeps them from sticking until they break in. I had to do that with my Asmodus c4 rda when I first got it.

i have also noticed the o-ring tolerances are pretty tight in the solo, i cant just pull the cap off mine either, it has to be screwed on a mod & i have to wiggle it side to side to gradually get the cap off. Good things are i can squonk this till im blue in the face it just never leaks/seeps past the first o-ring & i can lift my whole device by the rda without having to worry about the mod dropping, comes in handy if you’re one that pulls your mods out of pockets/bags by the atty,lol, especially when its a heafty topside dual or something. Theres a positive somewhere even in the negatives👍. I much prefer that my cap is tighter than it should be, so many times i have picked mods up by the atty & been left with just a cap in hand & batteries scattered across the floor.
Also, when you get the coil height etc right this rda is a banger, hellvapes best atty by far imo, even beats the dual coil dr pro rda & fat rabbit 2 rta for flavour, which are their best dual coil attys atm, so its worth the hassle.

I wondering if thats common with the new solos. I have the og solos that i use daily and never had that problem
Iv been eyeing the new ones for a bit. Does anyone have both the new and OG? Reason i ask is because the new one from the pics looks like cheaper build quality. To me it looks like the new ones are more lightweight like the newer dr3 from what the machining looks like where as the og is a solid heavy chunk of ss

Agree out of all the rdas iv tried the dr solo is just perfection.
A Alien v3 coil cut to 5mm and slightly loose wick is heaven

I have the OG and it rips. I’m running dr3 rn and its nice, but the OG takes the cake for me still. I just got DR2 in the mail today- and will lyk here in a few days. They are better than others RDA’S I’ve ran in the past, so it’s like 1st, 2nd and I’m assuming 3rd place in my book.

100% agree - perfection, the dr solo is way under-rated imo. I have the purple/pink 6th edition solo so not sure how is compares? but i do prefer that my cap is tighter so for me thats a big pro👍 & for materials i believe the anodized/painted caps are made from a different material to the solids like SS,gunmetal,rainbow etc? the deck & everything else is the same, it is pretty heavy & solid though, doesnt feel cheap.
The dr pro is really good aswell but that bottom airflow is just a pita if you ask me. If you already have the solo i wouldnt say its worth getting the others tbh, imo the dr solo is hellvapes best atty overall, but if you want a good dual coiler i think the drop dead 2 is their best dual coil rda atm. & the fat rabbit 2 is their best dual rta.

My favorite thing about them is how much juice you can just pour in. Other rdas like the asgard i drop like 3 or 4 drips and i overdripped. I just squirt a bunch of juice in the drs

I used WD40 once out of frustration. It took forever to get rid of the stench.
