Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl, and Acetoin free recipes

Hi All

I’m a newb and have mixed a few recipes now. I really don’t want to get into making recipes with Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl, and Acetoin. Unfortunately most of the good recipes seem to have some dangerous product in them.

  1. It would really be cool to have a filter on the site to view all recipes that don’t have any warnings. I’m sure someone has asked that already.
  2. Is that just the way it is. The good tasting recipes just are not good for you? If I want the taste I have to take some risks?
  3. I’ve been looking for a good Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl, and Acetoin free Custard. Is there a good one?

Nice to meet you all. Thanks in advance for the help.

Dave

Some of those flavors with warnings are now available without those additives. For ex. Capella has a bunch of V2 (version 2) clear of that stuff, DX flavors from TFA/TPA as well are clear. Try to adapt the recipes you are interested in with the these types.

Real Flavors makes a great diketones free custard. Two of them actually.

I hope Real Flavors have what you are looking for.I should know shortly as I now have them but will get my first chance mixing them later this weekend.Capella’s Vanilla Custard V2 is a option but the only one that can tell if you like is you. Some love ,some hate, and others tolerate .I find myself in the tolerate category.I can vape it but only after 45 day minimum steep ,at least it doesn’t cost much for you to find out.Honestly it is hard to tell someone what flavor they will like but I would probably order some from Real Flavors as the reviews have been excellent on the Vanilla Custard and Cinnamon Custard as well.

They use butyric acid instead and a lot of people find that completely disgusting and smelling of vomit. Personally I’m not too worried about trace amounts of diketones considering the crap I’ve put in my body over the years before I started vaping. If you want to be completely safe you probably end up vaping straight VG and nothing else.

As said earlier. Substitute substitute substitute. It take practice, patience, and some trial and error. If you never try vanilla custard cap v1, their version 2 is pretty good for example.

The biggest key is research and reading. Find a recipie that sounds great. Dream about the flavor the person created. The start subi get the flavors you have available or need to order.

It is true, you may not end up with the flavor originally designed. However, I find personally that I get slot of mixs that a great for me.

Ah thank MisterSinner

I’ve ordered a few of those now

No prob. Good luck and have fun.

I second the Mr. Sinner’s comments about Capella V2 versions, they are really pretty good too.
